Gamer Entitlement? · 8:36am Nov 19th, 2018
I'm sorry, what? If I went to a restaurant, ordered a steak and they gave me a salad I would be angry. I would be even more angry if they said I was 'entitled' for complaining. What if you went to watch a movie that was pure garbage, and you were told you were entitled for not liking it?
Simply put, don't expect us to buy the product if you give us not what we asked for, and is of generally low quality. You hear guys say game companies owe gamers nothing, huh? What if nobody bought their product, wouldn't that make them bankrupt?

Do these guys expect us to like everything? Even if it's garbage?
We'll make our own games! With Hookers and Blackjack!

This is why indie games have become so much more popular and why in other big industriy's massive companies have Indie Developement arms that play with new ideas with smaller budgets before passing it onto the main team
It's kind of the reverse logic to why I bought the Spyro Reignited Trilogy Special Edition on both XBO and PS4.
If more people buy products WORTH getting, it should, theoretically, push the companies to make more of those type of product.
Honestly, I'm starting to think that 'entitled' is just the way the current old people say 'arrogant,' 'reckless,' or 'short-sighted' without having to accept that they've turned into their parents, or even their parents parents, from some fifties teen-movie everybody but them have forgotten.
Would explain a lot.
Do you not have phones?
This is why I never pre-order a game.
This is why I always read the user reviews along with the critic reviews and watch the Let's Play videos before I but a game.
Gotta be an educated consumer these days.
The thing though is that one man’s garbage is another’s treasure. Many « garbage » games are actually for different demographics than the ones that got excited for it. Blizzard just showed they don’t care about their old fans demographic. They want the more spending casual phone gamers. As a business decision, it’s good but it’s a let down and assholish for the fans that have supported them for so many years.
This also sucks with "updates" to a game.

Yes.
That's exactly what they seem to expect. It's almost as if larger companies believe that gamers have no life outside of video games; and thus only fill their lives by buying every new title that gets published.
You just go back to forum gaming and text games of the olden days. At least that is what I am doing. Fuck paying for garbage when you can use your imagination, and write the stuff you want down to share it with other people.
Gaming industry is fucking dead. Time to move on to other, better forms of entertainment.
Is there any specific company you were referencing? I can only think of Electronic (sh)Arts doing what you described.
