Yet More Delay · 4:32pm Oct 2nd, 2018
Hoenstly can't tell you all how sorry I am, but you guys definitely deserve an explanation. So aside from the fact that, quite literally, I am only just now getting over being sick, I've also had work. Normally, that's not an issue, after all, you all know that I've maintained my writing schedule through work without problem before.
The issue is what's specifically happening. See, I work at a card and game shop that mostly handles Magic: The Gathering and if any of you play, then you know exactly what happened this prior weekend and what's upcoming. The release of the much anticipated 'Guilds of Ravnica' set. So essentially I've spent the past weekend judging and arbitrating prerelease tournaments, our shop has six of them over the course of the weekend so there's very little time for rest.
Moreover, when you're actually a part of a shop like that there is so much more that goes into prepping for a new release.
This week, over the course of the next three days, we're be busting open literal tons of sealed product as we organise cards to be sold as singles and sets. I'll be sitting in a room with a half dozen other people cracked boxes, cracking packs, organising cards, and dividing up sets for hours at a time in order to be ready for the actual release weekend where I'll be basically doing what I did this last weekend again. Don't get me wrong, I love my job, but this is a 'Once Every Three Months' anomaly where basically every get's their life put on hold for about a week-and-a-half while this new set is organised.
I was really hoping to be back on schedule by now but that just hasn't happened. Next week, all of this furor will have died down, though, and I can finally get back to telling you all the angst-ridden tale of Gilda and Sunset. Believe me, I miss writing my girls probably about as much as you miss reading about them.
Hang in there and do what you gotta do. I understand all too well the pressures work can put on an individual and how time consuming it can be. The story's worth waiting for so buckle down and "get 'er done". We'll be here when you get back.
Its alright, we can wait
sit back and get better. Most of us can wait, and for those that can't too bad.
Aw ok
Thanks for the heads up man, glad to hear your still trucking along
Ah, well, I'm glad you're getting over being sick, and thanks for the update on your situation. Good luck with the sales rush!
It's cool, I don't mind waiting and glad to know that you're feeling better.
Also cracking open pacts of magic is just so much fun, I my self am looking forward to crack a few pack just to get some "shock lands" too bad they don't have any "masterpieces" in this set.
that’s alright
Fanfic is supposed to be a fun hobby, not an obligation. Real-world stuff like work and illness should always have a precedence. So don't worry; we'll be here once you feel better and have the time.
