Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated

    Hello all,

Just got an email from Brony Soprano concerning my health (given that my last blog was about me getting Covid, I understand that some might be a bit jittery). Rest assured, I overcame Covid and am in good health lately (probably better health because I've started working out some).

And this is why I play Tzeentch

Well, after nearly two years of dodging and playing it safe, I've finally been "blessed" by Grandfather Nurgle's plague. I tested positive for Covid this afternoon.

    Big news!

I'm gonna be an uncle come July!

Rest assured the kid will be raised as a proper servant of the Emperor if I have anything to say about it.

Merry Christmas to you all :pinkiehappy:

Yet another story idea I had... · 12:38am Sep 19th, 2018

I get these a lot more than I write about, it seems.

A while ago, I had an idea for a more "meta" 40k crossover. Basically more along the lines of Toyhammer rather than Empress Returns. It would go thusly:

Twilight Sparkle (or Starlight Glimmer) wants to bond a little more with Spike, and learns that during the in-between times of Ogres and Oubliettes Spike and Big Mac have taken to playing small games of 40k. Fascinated by the fine detail the models come in (and not really reading the fluff for certain characters), Twilight/Starlight buys a bunch of Thousand Sons models so she can play too, painting them up and getting ready for fun.

That is, until she wakes up and finds her Ahriman mini rifling through the library.

See, Discord (being rather lazy) did not want to go through the process of buying and painting his own army, so he put a charm up that makes all Warhammer minis in Ponyville come to life at certain times so he could summon demons from Tartarus to be his miniatures (he has a few favors that need cashing). Hilarity ensues from there.

Never got around to writing it because it's more a few funny scenes rather than a full story, but I did start building that Thousand Sons army our purple protagonist would purchase...

this must become a thing.

So, in other words, it's Small Soldiers, but in your case it'd actually be well-written and engaging. Yeah. I'd read that.

Now that would be interesting

One thing... if there are any Primarch figures (or figures of anyone that knows Big G), if they see Celestia they must immediately think she is the God Emperor of Man

I LIKE IT
Also include the imperial guard as their good

That sounds amazing. Comedy or dark comedy warhammer is my thing.

So would Ahriman be interpreting things around him literally or would he and others like him be a little deluded (Ala early Buzz Lightyear) Ex: He's in Twilight's Library and going "Finally! The Black Library! After all these eons!" and doing things like assuming Pinkie Pie is Cegorach upon meeting her.

4940203 Some variation; like, since he and his fellows are newly painted they need a "breaking in" period before they accept they're magically enchanted plastic minis, but afterword he mellows out a bit.

This sounds like it would be awesome.

While this is awesome. I always wondered how their sort of polar opposites: The Black Templars would go.

Oh yes, I was just thinking that. After all, to raid a treasure one must first subdue it's guardians.

Ah, Toyhammer, one of my first ever 40K fics that I ever read, over at FF.net 4 years ago. It was getting kind of long in the tooth by the end, but I am sad it never finished. I’ve always linked Warhammer and My Little Pony together. It was the fanfiction that got me closer to the WH community, since I play the videogames and not any bit of the tabletop. And exploring the pony fandom got me reading fanfiction in the first place.

I can easily imagine Ahriman waking up inside Twilight’s giant Crystal Palace, and assuming he’s found the Black Library in the Web Way. It would be so nice for him to feel validated just once in his life. He’d feel so content over finally finding it, he wouldn’t even be slightly bothered by the giant horse yelling at him.

(and not really reading the fluff for certain characters)

I think you’ve got the subject of the story right there, actually. Have a conflict be that Twilight is shocked that Spike, or anyone, could be so invested in this setting as horrible as 40K, and see any of the characters in it as admirable.

I love fantasy that portrays its elves, orcs and ents as having different brain structures and psychological outlooks online, and I enjoy the fanfiction that differentiates the ponies from humans, griffons, and dragons. So besides ponies being nervous about any meat eating, perhaps the idea of mass warfare and slaughter seems utterly sociopathic. Certainly someone as straight laced and moralizing. And in a world with actual magic, the government might have goodbye reason to ban books with any descriptions of demon summoning. That would be like if I Googled instructions for a pipe bomb.

Or it could be more pedestrian, with Twilight not wanting her son expy having anything to do with something so gratuitously violent, and never wants 40K mentioned under her roof again after they deal with the minis.

Did you mean to respond to Hey its that Pony? 4940203

A great concept, add some Harlequins to spice things up, and it will be perfect!

(Also the nerd conversation between Twilight and Magnus will be amazing I'm sure.)
