PATRON ALERT: Patreon Error Causes Declined Payments, ALL Creators Affected

Patreon is currently having payment issues. If you are a patron that uses a credit card, please check w/ your bank to approve the charge as non-fraud or update your payment method. Many of the creators I know have had 30-50% of their income essentially deleted, myself included.

I have audited my patrons and at least 3 of you (some BIG SPENDERS!) need to contact your card issuer ASAP & get this sorted out. I am presently minus 35% of my monthly Patreon income because of this.

EDIT: Apparently the root cause of this is that Patreon abruptly decided to change its banking from the US to the UK and didn't bother telling anyone. US-based banks are suddenly seeing a charge in the UK on cards and putting fraud stops on them.

Oh goodness. I saw the charge get declined, but I thought it was just me, or just my bank. I'll alert others to this once I get home.

So that's what happened, I thought it was just my bank. Did changing the payment method to PayPal help?

i got a notice about the payment not going thought nothing of it then went to work and treyd to buy lunch and was not able to thankfully a co worker covered it took less than 20 mins to fix with the bank

It didn't. :/ Until you get confirmation of a payment from both Paypal and Patreon for all your creator payments, nothing's been resolved.

Also, be sure to clear the matter up with your bank or it'll freeze your card for EVERYTHING.

Well... This is serious. So, I'll say this now.
I dont have a lot of money to began with, so every now and then it gets declined. But this is entirely different. I'll change the card of my patron-payment once I get home.

It's not hitting everyone, and mostly seems to hit Visa and MasterCard credit card users. It's affecting roughly 35% of patrons who use credit cards on average.

I'm having trouble just logging IN to my danged Patreon account to just check and see if Earthsong9405 and Pia-sama's MLP Rogue Diamond comic (both of which I support) both got my payments for this month TO them.

But noooooo.

and that they've sent me a verification email to my Hotmail account.
But I've been checking that thing all danged day, and NO such verification email have I received yet!
(And yes, I've been checking my spam/junk mail filter all day.)

I ever GET logged on, I'm switching my email login over there from Hotmail to Gmail.

Okay, turns out Stripe is processing some of Patreon's stuff now.

I feel a good deal better knowing that now, as I thought someone was trying to rip me off.
