It's finally done, almost a half a year of constant updates and we're finally here. The end of the adventures of Sunset Shimmer in the Trial Realms of the Entity.
But are we done?
I'll be honest, I definitely have a sequel story in mind and I'm sure the name I spoiled gives you all an idea as to what it entails.
Before that though, I'll address what I'm sure will be some of the concerns about the story end. Yes it is a little 'Magic of Friendshiptm' but to be honest... that's kind of the point. That's the whole point of this entire series. That in the end light wins out, not because it's better inherently but because the people who fight for it fight for more than just themselves.
It's about being willing to stand by one another even in the darkest hours and forging bonds that are more than just temporal things. The end was about Sunset being rewarded for finding herself and finding others and for never giving up on them. Even when Sunset wanted to give up it was always her friends that gave her the strength to continue. This was the reflection of the first chapter, wherein Sunset gave up; she stopped fighting and gave in to the void while in the final chapter and epilogue we see her having changed fundamentally, having been given the option to take the exact same route in the exact same place and having her deny it for the harder, more painful route.
And she did it.
She got home.
This is the story of Sunset becoming better and stronger as a person, and I hope you're all as satisfied with it as I am.
But what of the CHS, Crusaders and Rainbooms?

They weren't really part of the story. This was Sunset's story, not theirs. they only featured insofar as they served the actual tale. I mean, I understand wanting some form of resolution on that end but if I'm being honest, all of those resolutions feel kind of trite or played out. Especially in the context of Dead by Sunset, that wasn't really a part of the story. It might feature more in the sequel, though.

I just want to say that I've really enjoyed your story. Before reading your story I hadn't really read many horror stories, but I really enjoyed reading your story and I'm hoping to find more stories like yours in the genre. I also can't wait to see what you write next! Or for the sequel.
