Let's talk about something happier, shall we? Like how a crapton of EQG shorts happened yesterday. Y'know, the day of the new season premiere. What were they thinking? Well, anyway, the last batch wasn't too bad, so let's see what else the queegees are up to.
Turf War
This will not be the last short title in this group to play with my expectations. <.< Just think about it: EQG Gilda, or Babs Seed or someone, getting into a turf war with a rival gang on the mean streets of Human Canterlot!

Okay, if anyone's been paying attention (and I really don't blame you if you haven't), I've kind of been trying to ignore the fact that Timber Spruce exists. Especially in regards to anything Twilight-related. But aside from the whole "it was really creepy hitting on your campers" thing, I could kind of ship this. I mean, he's a tree, she kicks trees, they're perfect for each other. >.> Fucking fight me.
Bulk Biceps remains amazing.
Friendship Math
Only Twilight fucking Sparkle would go to the beach and do math. <.<
TwiPie shippers rejoice, I guess? This was okay, as these tend to be. But hey, what's-her-name from that babysitting short makes an appearance! I liked her.
Last Day of School
Uh, so, now we're done with the beach? c.c I think this should have come before all these other shorts.
TwiDash shippers rejoice, I guess? <.< I have to admit, I'm officially old, because I laughed at the VCR. ._. (What's-her-name's been playing Daring Do for a long time, though!) I also laughed at Twilight's "ARCGK" noise after Dash shouts her name.

Okay, but this is Fluttershy trying to make an adoption video for the animal shelter. And failing miserably at it because Fluttershy. :V
But you know, it's not often she gets a really good comedic turn; this is one of those rare instances, and it kind of works. Also, that cat is evil and I love it.
And of course, what happens at the end is not video editing. But I guess since Twilight has actual magic, she doesn't have to explain anything. :B
Pinkie Pie - Snack Psychic
Dear Principal Celestia, today I learned that losers don't deserve nachos.
Hey, we're back at the diner with Pinkie Pie! This was unabashedly cute, just a nice two-minute look at human Pinkie doing what makes pony Pinkie work. FlashLight haters may want to steer clear, but I dunno, I kind of liked everything that happened here? Like, those Crystal Prep kids must really suck at swimming, since Dash had to mime what it was to them. :V This is how you make a short worth watching.

It's another music video, and a pretty good song, at that. I mean, literally no one has ever rented a limo to go to a cowboy-themed party in a barn (Raridash shippers rejoice?), but everyone looks good, the song is fun, and hey, Sunset's actually here! There's been a distinct lack of her in these past few shorts. <.< I was getting worried.

Anyway, WOW. This is hands-down the best thing EQG Fluttershy has ever done. This is basically her "My Past Is Not Today", it's that good. I've kind of always liked the music videos best when it comes to EQG shorts, but this blows all of them out of the water. :D And this is why I keep coming back to these!
Also more Sunset and that sparkle gag at the end. XD
Salty Sails

Well, that was a... thing. <.< There's lots of hugging, so shippers rejoice? I'm pretty sure Twilight called Rarity fat. There's, uh, wet-mane human Pinkie? c.c I'm honestly grasping at straws for anything to recommend here. Pinkie was kind of delightful, but eh.

This short has shirtless Zephyr Breeze in it, so it can die in a fire. :D
Sunset Shimmer always has the coolest style. That black cowboy outfit? Unf!
Welp when I get home I guess I have some stuff to watch.

It is nice to see Timber outside of the context of horrible ships.
And yeah, the diegetic sparkles at the end of that last one had me rolling in my seat.

Yeah, these were... shockingly fun. This is coming of a guy who rags incessantly on these two-minute commercials, this set was probably the best anyone could do with the unfortunate length. AJ and Flutters' songs were catchy, and the others had me grinning like an idiot.
Did skip on Salty Sails and Zephyr Pees, though.
O gawd, AJ's legs.

The song in So Much More to Me is great. Best Fluttershy singing spot since "Filli Vanilli", not that she's had very many.
Turf War: Not actively bad, but I was ready for it to be over about a minute before it was. But yeah, Bulk was probably the best part of this.
Friendship Math and Last Day of School: These could have been released separately, since they're real similar, what with them basically being about how lame Sci-Twi is. That said, they're about how lame Sci-Twi is, and I love it.
Outtakes: That cat though. :V
Snack Psychic: A bit meh. Also, that ice cream has to have cost more than she makes in a shift. :|
Five to Nine: Freaking morning people. :P Nice enough song. Wonder if the pineapples were an easter egg of some kind.
So Much More: Not feeling like stage fright is the best way to go after one of the movies being built around the band that she performed with. Song was good though, but not a great fit for the surrounding situation, what with it being one where her shyness kinda defined what she could do. Was just thinking I wished it were ponyphonic's "Shy Heart," since it'd mesh better, and is just an absolutely wonderful song.
Still real good though.
Yes, Salty Sails was... something that happened for a couple minutes. I could likewise do without ever seeing Zephyr Breeze again. And what makes it worse is that since it's not even pony Zephyr Breeze, there's not even a shot that he'll have grown at all from the first outing.
