HT EU Characters Recap, Part I · 5:23pm Mar 10th, 2018
Hey again everyone. Sorry for the lack of updates and responses as of lately, but things have been a bit...less than pleasant on my part so far. I loathe winter, I swear to God. Everything immediately crashes into misery the second it hits, so I've been temporarily displaced, but Chapter 12 is in the works and on its way pretty soon with any luck.
Either way, I want to thank everyone again for their support on "Hurricane Trinity" (AKA the first of only two Storm King-centric stories I know of here that aren't hatefics or OOC) and again, you guys are amazing. I seriously do enjoy the feedback and enjoyment the story in general brings, despite the fact that it is primarily an EU and doesn't focus on the Mane Six or anything related in that area beyond mentions. I'm glad to see at least SOME people here are interested in the EU they presented despite the fact the movie itself could have done WAY more with it as a whole...but yeah. Point being, because of the EU factor and because I am a friggin' OC machine, you've probably noticed there are quite a few characters and species that aren't part of the actual canon itself. Until I actually find a proper hosting area for images/concepts (my DA account is pretty much freaking dead at this point) I will recap what's been revealed thus far in text, for the sake of proper knowledge and my own personal records.
Part one, (mostly) spoiler-free, is below. Obviously a few spoilers here and there will be dropped, possibly unintentionally, but oh well. I'll just hide those. PLEASE NOTE that everything that has been revealed in the story thus far will be posted here, so, if you want to avoid spoilers and haven't even read the story, dun scroll down. :P
CHARACTERS THUS FAR (order of appearance in Prologue - Ch. 11):
MAJOR ROLES

Matriarch Windcaller (Yeti) - Co-Queen of Tambelon, and one of two wives that the Tambelon ruler Grogar has currently. Windcaller hails from the land of Yebit, the Yeti land in Trinity, and has married Grogar in an attempt to unite the two races. Prince Stormbreaker's biological mother.
Rivvon (Caprinian) - Grogar's other wife, a purebreed Caprinian and damn proud of it...to the point where she pretty much loathes any other race that attempts to "dilute the bloodline" so to speak. Biological mother of Gallyen.
Gallyen (Caprinian) - Stormbreaker's elder half-brother, and Crown Prince of Tambelon at this point. Gallyen is a loyal and understanding soul that enjoys the company of others and attempts to be a proper prince, although he is usually a tad apprehensive about proper behavior at times.
MINOR/BACKGROUND

Haze (Unicorn) - Member of the Students of Nimbus, a group dedicated to restoring the Storm King's statue and ultimately the ones responsible for his revival. Though intimidating in appearance, Haze is actually pretty eager-to-please and easily crushed.
Stratos (Earth Pony) - Elderpony, and also a member of the Students of Nimbus. Ultimately was the one that cast the Storm King aside because of the ungrateful attitude towards the cult upon his revival.
Marko (Lizard/fishfolk) - Angry, arrogant thug who primarily lurks around the "Daughters of Slaughter" tavern in Klugetown. Flanked by his fellow lackeys, Marko ruled that area until recently, when Storm ultimately dropped him and his gang during a visit to said bar.
Sophie (Lizardfolk) - Strange elderly lizard who inhabits Shade Alley, a black-market trade district of sorts in Klugetown. Known to seriously creep others out; Capper by now is used to her, however.
Baalade (Lambogian) - A black-market merchant in Shade Alley, known for being incredibly shifty but also easily influenced.
Chyme (Caprinian) - Childhood bully of Stormbreaker, and pretty much an unpleasant ram to be around.
General Constelle (Hippogryph) - One of Novo's generals in the Royal Guard, loyal but condescending toward others. He seems to be in the right place, but something seems off about him...

Oh, good to know there is a list. So that means that whenever I get lost with who is who I can just go here and check it out for myself? Neat.
Now, while I am sceptical about liberal use of OCs in fanfics, there haven't been any trouble with the ones introduced thus far. For now at least, they have all fit into the wold they're in, haven't taken focus away from the canon characters, and are somewhat relevant to the plot. So kudos for that.
Which two would those be, if I may ask?

The second one is...well I think you wrote it actually, "The Storm King's Dreams". So far, besides my own story, it was the ONLY one I have read that hasn't really bashed on Storm NOR taken away the aspects of his personality or character. So, kudos to you on that one c:

Though I'm not sure if I agree entirely on that part though. As far as I know, there are actually about two more stories I can think of that did the Storm King justice than the ones you and I made. One is 'Merch Madness', which is actually really funny, even if it goes a bit meta, and then there is strangely enough the story where Darth Vader ends up in Equestria...which also has a pretty decent Storm King in it, even if he isn't the focus.
However, aside from that, there really are a lack of good Storm King stories on this site...or heck, any fanfics about any movie characters who aren't Tempest. Seriously, I'm still looking for a Skypie story on Fimfiction. I guess I do have that on my list on things I want write when I got time to do it, but still.
