Unpopular writer with unpopular opinions, mainly here to share and develop headcanon and such. Also to write weird smut. I do enjoy socializing though. Even though I do tend to be a tad cynical.

HT EU Characters Recap, Part I

Hey again everyone. Sorry for the lack of updates and responses as of lately, but things have been a bit...less than pleasant on my part so far. I loathe winter, I swear to God. Everything immediately crashes into misery the second it hits, so I've been temporarily displaced, but Chapter 12 is in the works and on its way pretty soon with any luck.

    Me Asking Questions Time

Hey again everyone. Chapter 10 of Hurricane Trinity is arriving soon, hopefully within the next week or so...when I'm generally unsure about my writing I tend to like to take my time with it so I don't end up being overly-wordy or making some serious mistakes with the dialogue, events and/or storyline. I'm also under my job's watch for the two months or so, so I'll probably not have a whole lot

Me Asking Questions Time · 7:13am Feb 8th, 2018

Hey again everyone. Chapter 10 of Hurricane Trinity is arriving soon, hopefully within the next week or so...when I'm generally unsure about my writing I tend to like to take my time with it so I don't end up being overly-wordy or making some serious mistakes with the dialogue, events and/or storyline. I'm also under my job's watch for the two months or so, so I'll probably not have a whole lot of time to write sadly...regardless, I'm going to try and provide updates when possible, so keep watch for future chapters. :D

Anyway, I have a few questions for those who are interested...now, as you whom have read the story already know, Hurricane Trinity involves the presence of a LOT of OCs, but I have taken time and care to develop them as best I can, and they are not really the main protagonists of this story for the most part (more on that in the future). I also have been an artist for quite some time as well as a writer, and have of course drawn up concept art and such for the characters that appear in the story and their basic appearances and characteristics. Also I am working on a cover-art piece for the story but I have NO idea what to go for as of right now. So, I am asking a few questions, to the people who are, again, interested, just to know for future reference:

a) Would you be okay with me posting links/images of the concept art/characters here,

b) Would you like to hear about future ideas/projects,

and

c) What would ultimately be a good piece of work for the cover, do you think? Layout suggestions; character suggestions; anything?

I'd really appreciate hearing you guys's feedback; again the feedback is primarily the reason I keep writing--because people actually show interest in the story and want to read more of it which is awesome. So, I want to interact a bit more in response. :D Please leave any questions you may have and/or comments on this blog or my profile...or drop me a message, whatever. I don't bite and I enjoy hearing others' input. But yeah, ultimately, new stuff coming soon; artwork; blah blah blah. Keep in touch. XD;

a) Sure. Having an idea of what the OCs look like will help to identify them better if the names and descriptions didn't quite stick the first time.

b) I'm always up for helping others expand on any potential ideas/projects.

c) Here's my suggestion:
Characters: Storm King, Grubber, Capper, Celaeno, Gallyen, Grogar, Windcaller, Skystar and Novo (only the latter two if they actually play a big role).

Layout: I'll use the poster for Captain America: The First Avenger as an example: LINK
Storm King in the front and centre. Grubber, Capper, Celaeno, [possibly]Skystar and [possibly]Novo off to the side but all clearly visible. Grogar, Windcaller and Gallyen at the top, but drawn much bigger to symbolise Storm King's past hanging over him.

The background setting would have several storm clouds and a few lightning strikes, none of which will overlap the characters. The title of the story would be at the bottom, clearly visible and not interfering with anything going on above.

The general colouring I feel should not be too vibrant as to mislead the story's tone, but also not too bleak as to blend everything together; there's a grey area between them and that's where I think it should be.

Hope this helps. While I'm not skilled with digital drawing in any way, I can create a logo for you to place on the cover if you want.

Thanks for the input! The cover suggestion definitely looks to be an interesting one; I'll see what I can do regarding that. c:

And, I wouldn't mind if you helped make a logo; I'm a tad modest when it comes to my own work but I know that I can draw pretty well (at least compared to some other artists out there), however logo-making is not one of my strong points admittedly, especially if it needs to be vectored. Of course I would ultimately give you credit where credit is due should I post it here or anywhere else...don't feel that you NEED to, though. Just put something together on your own time should you have a good idea c:

Alrighty then. I should probably gather up the stuff I have already and attempt to make a few more concepts and doodles, as far as it comes to the other characters that appear. Even if people aren't interested, I still love to at least share things with others. What to properly do for the actual image-hosting itself though...?

a) Most definitively. I honestly think images in stories are very underrated. I myself actually put pictures of events and characters in my own stories all the time. It’s especially useful when dealing with OCs or redesigns of canon characters, since they are often difficult to imagine without some kind of visual aid. It also makes them more memorable overall.

Actually, they don’t necessarily have to be just links either, since Fimfic does allow you to post pictures in the story itself. I’d understand if you think such images might be in the way of the story or be too intrusive in some way, but then all you’d have to do would be to post them in the author’s note instead. Either way works for me.

b) Sure. Why not?

c) Honestly, DaveMan1000 already had such a good idea, it’s hard for me to top it. But, if I am to suggest an alternative, then it might be cool to split it up in a way where you see the young Stormbreaker on one side, and an adult Storm King is on the other...as if to symbolise how such a seemingly innocent and tragic creature would turn into such a dangerous conqueror, and show that he’s not completely as evil as he first appears to be...or something.

Now, it’s always great to give feedback to stories that I think deserve it. Since I too want feedback over everything else on my own works, I’d be a hypocrite if I didn’t extend the same curtsy.

Yes to the first two questions, what DaveMan1000 suggested to the third.

I've noticed you've stopped using your DeviantArt, so might I suggest Derpibooru.org as an alternative?

I've had a somewhat successful result from my first piece I posted there.

I dunno, Derpibooru is okay for image-hosting, but really it does not have the best community in my eyes. =/ Granted my work has been posted there and the attention received is for the most part positive, but I just really do not feel comfortable using it. I might just upload the image links in blog posts and put them on Stash, but again, that's to be determined.
