Epilogue for Failed Confessions Still Planned! Reasons for Delay Explained · 4:35pm Feb 28th, 2018

Eyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

Don't kill me because of story delay! D:

Honestly, I have no real excuse that will truly excuse me from the delay of the last chapter. Yes, the story is finished, but I did promise a final chapter before the story's ultimate conclusion. Let me give my excuse before judgement is passed, though I am sure you, my reader, will most likely understand.

At the beginning of November last year, I published a new story, No Hugs for Sugar Crush. If you look at the stats, when it came to Failed Confessions, chapters began to become less consistant; instead of every few days, it came close to every week. This is still consistant and not having month long chapter delays. But aside from school and work, I had two stories to focus on. I have learned that when I have two published stories that are incomplete and still need to be written, jumping between the two can become taxing and confusing. I have to juggle two ideas by remembering the small details that I have added earlier in the story so that they can apply later on. This means I have to re-read chapters, look over my outlines (that don't exist), and recall everything that had happened up until the current chapter.

To put it bluntly, I wanted to end Failed Confessions as soon as I could. I was nearing the end of the story, but I wanted to get this 60k+ word story off my back. It is much different when I write a 10k-20k word story because I can get that done in a week or so because those are usually fueled by a sudden surge of inspiration. They are also easy to keep track of and don't consist of a very long plotline. But stories that exceed 20k words are worked on the side and very slowly.

My prequel and sequel to my Two-Sided Series have been started, but they are being worked on at a snail pace. I would love to devote more time to them, but I have one long story I have begun last year. Their progress is slow, but it is being worked on nonetheless. What's more is that when I am a little burnt out on No Hugs, I can look at another story and work on it a little before returning back to the current published work.

Back to Failed Confessions, I wanted to end on a chapter that was firm and conclusive. I have not gotten back to it for some time because that was a heavy project I wanted to end. I don't hate it and it is one of my favorite stories I have written so far, and it was a good learning experience for me. I did promise an epilogue that was supposed to follow the end, but I didn't uphold to the bargain and post the epilogue the following week. Instead, the last chapter has been on hold for the last two months because I needed to breath and not worry about two incomplete and unwritten stories.

I am much more composed now and can return to Failed Confessions one last time. I will not give a firm date as to when the epilogue will be posted because I don't like to make promises that may be interfered with. Just expect it and know that Failed Confessions has not been forgotten. In fact, I know it is not forgotten because it is on the Top Stories for both Vapor Trail and Sky Stinger. But regardless of its ranking, expect more funny.

I was wondering what happened to that portion of Failed Confessions. You had me worried! :twilightsheepish:

I can’t work on two stories like that. I find it very hard to keep track of all the little details. I’m trying to plan four stories that form one big tale, so I’ve had to leave so many comments on my Gdoc telling me what to remember to add in. :raritydespair: Writing can be so taxing at times. But worth it all the same! :pinkiecrazy:

I look forward to the last Failed Confessions chapter and more from No Hugs, I’m going to end up adding that one to my favorites.

If you’re still planning to come back to Failed Confessions for the epilogue, I’ll be looking forward to it
