Moth Plays Dragonball Xenoverse, Episode 10: Sunset Senshi no Bakuhatsu Chikara! Super Saiyajin Kinoa · 10:26pm Feb 13th, 2018

Welcome back!

Last time, Kinoa joined the Ginyu Tokusentai on the side in an effort to achieve the Super Saiyajin power she witnessed on Planet Namek.

Episode 10: Sunset Senshi no Bakuhatsu Chikara! Super Saiyajin Kinoa

Having completed her training to surpass Son Goku, Kinoa put her new power to the test against the ultimate opponent by facing Frieza, alone, on the dying Planet Namek, just as Son Goku himself once did. Pleased with the results of her training, Kinoa returned to the Time Nest just in time to discover the time demons were making their next move.

Towa and Mira's next time disruption occurs during the Cell Game. When Kinoa arrives to intervene, all hell breaks loose--Towa manages to corrupt just left of everyone with evil energy, including Mister Satan, who suddenly becomes a terrifying, monstrous opponent with the strength of a Super Saiyajin! Kinoa's newfound power is put to the test against Perfect Cell, Mister Satan, and a swarm of Cell Jrs. in an all-out battle of the strongest. When Super Saiyajin Kinoa proves to be too much for the time demons' minions, Mira steps forth to fight Kinoa directly, with Trunks at her side for support. The Saiyajin from the Time Patrol barely pull through, and Towa and Mira retreat--leaving Kinoa to fight the final battle of the Cell Game alongside Son Gohan.

So! I finally have Super Saiyajin and...honestly? I think I was doing better without it. At least, before I got a little more used to it. I'm not sure it's actually all it's cracked up to be gameplay-wise, but damned if it isn't fun to bust out. The real bitch is that it steadily drains your ki (forcing you to Power Charge repeatedly) and once you drop out of it, your stamina bottoms out and your moves are sluggish and weak until your stamina recovers.

I really really hate chasing fast-moving assholes in circles. I seem to do a LOT of that in this game.

What's going to happen next? Find out next time, on Moth Plays Dragonball Xenoverse!

See ya next fight!

The thing with Super Saiyan is you don't play it the same way you would without. You just transform and spam Ultimates, the charge up when low. It'll be easier once you get max charge. Super Saiyan let's you use Ults and Supers for free as long as you have ki. Takes a while to get used to it, but once you do, the fun begins.

Honestly, I never played as a Saiyan in Xenoverse (Earthling all the way), so I can't really comment on the ups and downs of SSJ (I had the Kaiōken variants and later Potential Unleashed after training under Rō Kaiōshin) I will however leap on the "Xenoverse 2 did it better bandwagon" and say that SSJ and its spin-offs are not nearly as awkward come next game.

Guess it also depends on your play style; SSJ is great for Brawlers but not so much for Blasters.

Ah, so that's it. Thanks, now I'll be ready to practice next time. :)

I have a tendency to get up close and use Meteor Crash whenever possible because my aim SUCKS with beam supers.

I recommend going into some easier early Parallel Quests to get used to Super Saiyan.

Probably a good idea, yeah.

By the way, what does the title mean? Of the blog post, I mean.

"Sunset Warrior's Exploding Power! Super Saiyajin Kinoa"

I'd say SSJ is the form for you then.

Go forth and be the bacon in the fridge for all living things that cry out in hunger!
