    URBC Seven Tribes Spin-off!

Welp, I said I was working on this months ago, and now it's finally here! The spin-off of Undead Robot Bug Crusaders about the ancheint seven tribes of ponykind I've been giving hint about as far back as the prologue of the first story!

    ...

But to be honest, I'm not sure if it's fit to publish.

    Yet another delay

The final chapter (not counting epilogue) of URBC will be delayed on account of:

    1) Revisions to make sure this story goes out on a high note.

    2) I'm in the middle of catching up with a old friend, and helping him with his own fan fic.

    3) IRL complications that have made the past few and upcoming weeks rather stressful.

    4) Recent episodes forcing me to rework a scene.

    URBC Chapter 17 Reference List

Someone asked, and it's been long enough, so here it is. Every reference I was crazy enough to slip into chapter 17 of Undead Robot Bug Crusaders, not counting the ones reused from chapter 16.

I'm also pointing out the stuff that weren't really references but are worth pointing out, as well as some commentary to go with it all so that this blog post is actually interesting to read.

URBC Chapter 17 Reference List · 12:53am Feb 10th, 2018

Someone asked, and it's been long enough, so here it is. Every reference I was crazy enough to slip into chapter 17 of Undead Robot Bug Crusaders, not counting the ones reused from chapter 16.

I'm also pointing out the stuff that weren't really references but are worth pointing out, as well as some commentary to go with it all so that this blog post is actually interesting to read.

And for the record, yes, some of these were intentionally far too vague to be figured out.

1) Dr Brown's memory wiping sliver cylinder: Men in Black (I've never seen the movie. Watch a few episodes of the cartoon, though).

2) Gambling Future: Back to the Future part II (A bit redundant with Dr. Brown already there, but that was kind of the point).

N) Ponies with holograms: not a reference to anything in particular, but I was inspired by this image.

3) Spider leg robot: Mr. Handy from Fallout (We'll get to the Fallout Equestria reference in due time).

4) Toaster Robots: Mouse Droids from Star Wars. (What was the point of those things again?)

5) CP: C-3PO, also from Star Wars (I thought this one was a little too on the nose, to be honest).

6) Robot Maid: The Jetsons (Sometimes I feel there should be a law that all sci-fi media should have at least one shout out to this show).

7)Pie flavored Pie: ASDF Movie Series (If you haven't watch this series yet, I recommend you do, and that you have an dead battery on hand for all the "wat"s you're going to spill).

8) Friday the 13th: Friday the 13th (It was honestly more of a jab at Hollywood sequels in general. You just know the number is going to get that high some day).

9) Doomguy: Doom Series (I'm really proud of this one. In fact, the other two ads are only there because of how badly I wanted to put this line in).

N) I was so close: for anyone who missed it, this was a shout out to everyone who guessed what MPS stood for. Thanks for playing, everyone.

10) "Only a child" : this was a really vague jab at Jimmy Neutron. (I get that it was part of the show, but I still can't get over that one episode where he gives his friend a functional laser spear as a stage prop. Why?!).

N) CPR: not a reference, just a medical pun I hope someone noticed.

11) Mushroom pony: The Last of Us (I need to get around to playing that game some day. I'm just put off by how much it looks like a zombie Uncharted, and that's not a good thing).

12)Turtles: Mario Franchise (If you don't know what I mean by that, you need to crawl out from under that rock).

13) Max: Maximum Ride Series (Google it. It's an awesome, if somewhat confusing at times, book series. I think there's even a manga adaption).

14) Retroactive/Radioactive Spiders: Spiderman (I'm pretty sure I don't really need to point this one out...).

15 & 16) Red and Blue Unicorns: The Medic from TF2 (I didn't trust my writing skills to go all out with the German accents).

17) Stealthy Human: Splinter Cell (I was sooooo tempted to use Snake instead, but that guy actually has better things to do than kidnap little ponies (I kid, I just love Metal Gear more)).

18) Code 23-19: Monsters Inc (I still have no idea what kind of code system has 23-19 as a seemingly common place security risk).

19) Room 115: very, very vague reference to Call of Duty Zombies (Literally the only CoD thing I will play (And I must compliment the guy that spotted this one)).

20) Other Silver Cylinder: Dr. Who (I have no idea if a sonic screwdriver could do this sort of thing. My Dr. Who knowledge comes entirely from this fandom).

21) Batman: Batman (OK, in hindsight I don't really count this one as I just said his name, but I did say there were 24 references in the chapter, so I have to count it here).

22) Time fixing crew: Ghost Busters (I really hope I did those guys justice here).

23) Time Tub: Well... (OK, this was initially a reference to an episode of Ducktales of all things, but when I did a google search, I found out that "hot tub time machine" is apparently a thing. So... I honestly have idea what this a reference to either at this point. It is a reference either way, though).

24) Princess of Toaster Repair: Fallout Equestria (I'd write a one shot about how she got that title and not Princess of Getting Shot if I wasn't terrified of putting Littlepip in my own story. By the way, I wrote my own Fo:E spin off! And it's about ghosts! You should totally go read it if you've read the original! #shameless promotion (Please? I worked really hard on it :fluttershysad:)).

*Cough*

Ahem. Sorry. Feel free to ignore that last bit.

And as a bonus: there was originally going to be a TV in the main lobby with a reference to this old fossil , but I cut it when I realized that a TV was too big a spoiler risk for any sane individual to leave in the lobby.

At any rate, thanks for joining me down this rabbit hole. I hope you enjoyed it.

The Last of Us is nothing like Uncharted, and I do recommend playing it. Just...expect to feel emotions. Lots of them.

The mouse droids are high tech roombas. I am 99% sure this is even confirmed cannon, they are trash robots, maybe the was the floor at the same time, I'm not sure about that.

i actualy got most of these and thank you greatly for all of them. also blackjack contends as princes of getting shot just as much . (i mean, all of her frriends nearly have shot her) plus can we be friends ?

References I missed: 10, 19, CPR
I missed the Jimmy Neutron reference because that's more of a common knowledge thing. Even if I had recognized it as a reference, I wouldn't have been able to place it. Room 115, as you said, was very, very vague and could potentially apply to other things considering how vague it was. But it's another case where even if I spotted it, I wouldn't have placed it. As for the CPR, even if it's a pun and not a reference, I feel ashamed that I didn't spot it.

References I spotted but couldn't place: 2, 6, 7, 11, 13, 14, 17, 18
I put the Splinter Cell reference on the list as a technicality because I was able to recognize the reference, I just couldn't place what it goes to.

References I got wrong: 3, 23, 24, Ponies with Holograms
I suppose the spider robots could be considered "couldn't place". But I can't deny that I thought of the robots from The Matrix. The time capsule I thought was a Back to the Future reference, with the mention of being used on cars. I though the Princess of Toaster Repair was just a joke about the number of princesses making the title meaningless. And I put the holograms on because I thought that was a reference to something.

After they grabbed the spider, would've been funny for one to do:

"We came, we saw, we kicked its..." stares at the fillies, "...uh, dont worry, kiddos, we're professionals." And leaves. Quickly.

8) Friday the 13th: Friday the 13th (It was honestly more of a jab at Hollywood sequels in general. You just know the number is going to get that high some day).

You forgot the part where one of the Back to the Future movies had a promo for the movie Jaws 19.
