(Almost) Everything That Inspired My Stories [2017] · 8:55pm Jan 30th, 2018
Mentioned a big blog post of retrospection and introspection somewhere. This is that blog post.
Just wanted to share the cargo ship of major inspirations that basically had a hand in driving me to write the many stories I've put out on the site last year. Haven't written this much stuff in a single year since... well, since ever, so I thought it might be nice to share the melting pot of stuff that had inspired me in hopes that it might inspire you to write a story or two as well. The only ones I'm leaving out of the list would be the Tales series: Shatter, Silence. Shatter., A Copper Cicada, Underground, Cascade! Clouds Above, Obfuscate! and On The Transience Of Adelasters, mostly cause the inspirations that came from them are a myriad of things pulled out from a mix of curiosity, xenophobia and the soundtrack it's derived from. I also won't mention Jólasveinar since there's not really much that influenced it apart from the Icelandic Yule Lad mythology bit, so yeah.
Some of the inspirations have been put out there on the stories themselves, so do expect some familiar stuff to come around. The inspirations here are quite obvious given a little thinking, others not so much. Anyways, they'll all be listed out here. Of course, there's a lot of other stuff, though they're very minor and don't actually form the bulk or set the tone of the story as much as these ones did.
Guess we'll start with my most controversial story thus far:
MamihlapinatapaiMentioned these before: FlashLight fracas, mainly. General political upheaval. Personal stuff.
Feyspeak
φhilosoρhizε, αmiδ †rαnquil H∯s
The Eoan Ephemeron
Atomic Number
So yeah, hopefully you guys can get something out of them! Any questions, just leave a comment here or PM me if you wish! I'll get back to you as soon as I can!
