Moth Plays Dragonball Xenoverse, Episode 5: Out of Body Experience?! Kinoa is Ginyu!! · 11:31pm Jan 20th, 2018

Welcome back!

When last we left our valiant Time Patroller Kinoa, she had just defeated Rikuum on Planet Namek, while Vegeta fought--and was very possibly body-swapped with--Captain Ginyu. The Ginyu Force is by no means defeated, the threat of Freeza looms large, Goku has yet to arrive on Namek, and our mysterious time travelling villains are determined to destroy history. Can one lone beautiful Saiyan warrior make a difference in the battle of the ages?

Episode 5: Out of Body Experience?! Kinoa is Ginyu!!

I won't lie. This...

The second battle in today's episode...I failed it a whole bunch of times. And it was never really my fault. Which is what makes it worse.

When last we left off, Rikuum was defeated by Kinoa. As Kinoa and Goku face off against Ginyu, Ginyu prepares to use his body change trick to steal Goku's body...but Kinoa gets thrown into the path of his attack, and Ginyu steals HER body!

Now confused and stuck in an icky overly muscled purple alien body, Kinoa has to complete her mission AND get her beautiful sexy body back! But things are complicated by a new twist to the mission: Kinoa, as Ginyu, is sent to Freeza's ship to protect Gohan and Kuririn, who are stealing the Dragonballs. When Kinoa arrives, Freeza's forces have mobilized, and all hell breaks loose.

No, seriously, all HELL breaks loose. This close-quarters fight where you have to defeat a ridiculous number of soldiers in the confines of Freeza's ship is a confused, chaotic mess--made worse by the fact that if either Gohan or Kuririn get KOed, you lose.

I failed this mission...repeatedly because of that condition.

Gurudo arrives in the middle of the frenzy, discovers what's going on, and tries to stop Kinoa and the chibis from escaping, but gets his ass handed to him and flees. Once the heroes mop up Freeza's grunts, they head outside with the Dragonballs. No sooner are they outside the ship than Goku and Ginyu arrive! Another fight breaks out, and it isn't long before Kinoa gets her lovely, light, speedy body back from Ginyu. After some more fighting and body-swapping hijinks, Goku's body is trashed, Ginyu is down, and he tries to swap bodies with Vegeta, only for Goku to throw a toad into the path of his technique, thus eliminating Ginyu as a threat for pretty much forever. However, the victory is short-lived, as before Kinoa can return to the Time Nest to rest and report...

Our mystery time bandits finally show themselves...but once again, the boss battle at the end of a story arc is blocked, including all important story cutscenes. Boo...

The demoness Towa and her son Mira, from the Demon Realm, are travelling through time stealing the energy of powerful warriors throughout history. They intend to use that energy to break the seal on the Demon Realm. Suddenly, Kinoa finds herself in a desperate battle with a powerful foe--she can't even scratch Mira. Mira humors her for a while, then Towa orders him to withdraw, promising Kinoa that if she interferes with them again, it will be the end for her.

No sooner has Toki no Kaioushin finished explaining about Towa and the Demon Realm to Trunks and Kinoa than another history shift occurs. There's no rest for the weary when time demons are screwing around with history.

What's going to happen next? Find out next time, on Moth Plays Dragonball Xenoverse!

See ya next fight!

The second battle in today's episode...I failed it awhole bunchof times. And it was never really my fault. Which is what makes it worse.

He's not wrong, it's a luck based mission, if you get unlucky, several goons with gang up on Gohan or Krillin and kill them, if you're not, you might make it. And since you're in Ginyu's body, you can't even HIT that hard and your skills are crap.

Suddenly, Kinoa finds herself in a desperate battle with a powerful foe--she can't even scratch Mira.

Despite that in the fight, there's a LOT of talking and Mira standing around doing nothing and you can beat the tar out of him with no repercussions and get the easiest Z rank in the entire game. And it only gets easier when you come back with Super Saiyan.

Ah, the fun of Xenoverse's bloody escort missions. Get used to this feeling Moth; it'll be back soon enough.

On the whole its rather entertaining to hear Ginyu's rants about what body he gets stuck in, (he groused that my Earthling didn't have an ounce of grace or beauty or something similar.)

Still, its rather a shame that this is about as far as they go with their "what if...?" scenarios in the altered histories.
