Hello, so I haven't really been active on my account recently, nor have I been watching the show. To be honest, I don't find interest in the show anymore. I don't have time for it either.
First of all, that girl that I mentioned in my last blog post? Well, she's my girlfriend now. In fact, we've been dating for almost 2 months now. It's not a long time, but I've been so happy with her. I didn't think I'd ever find someone who'd look up to me like she does, and I never thought I'd find a girl whom I'd be amazed by every time I see her. It's really amazing, and I couldn't be happier. It makes me so happy that I can call her my girlfriend, and I can hold her hand and hug her in public.
Also, I've been super serious about finding an internship for this summer. It might not happen, but I'm doing everything I can. Not to mention that this semester starts on Tuesday (tomorrow we have off for MLK day). I'm going to be starting daily coding challenges (for interviews), as well as following a video tutorial on the Unreal Engine, hopefully helping me to learn C++ better, as well as giving me a project to put on my resume. On top of all of that, all the school things I'll have to do.
I don't really have any interest in watching the show anymore. When I do try to watch it, which is very rare now, I get the cringy, uncomfortable "kids show" vibe from it. Y'know what I'm talking about? Everything is a little too cutsey and happy, and it makes you uncomfortable? That's how I feel about it. Not to beat on people who do like it still (namely, you all), but it's just not my cup of tea anymore.
I appreciate you all for everything you've done for me whilst writing these stories. It's truly been an honor, and it's gotten me through some rough times. I read the stuff I wrote and sometimes I cringe because I realize now the stories I write are total crap 
. I mean, seriously, wtf was I thinking with some of those lines?
But thanks to everyone who has supported me through my writing. I might come back, I might not. As of now, all my unfinished stories will go on hiatus (or hibernation, rather). I might pop in occasionally to check notifications and whatnot, and see if my stories have gotten any more attention (cause that's just how I am), but I think I can confidently say that I'm finished with writing. For now, anyways.

And hey, its fine if you don't want to see the show anymore. Besides, a lot of people are saying its gone into a downward spiral, so its fine if you don't want to see it anymore. I don't think anyone will complain.

I’m glad you finally have a girlfriend, you treat her like a princess okay? And a suggestion, maybe you should show her the stories you’ve written, she might be interested in them knowing that you wrote stories that people liked, anyways good luck Jake.

First off, I'm glad you're doing very well. Congrats on getting a girlfriend.
Second off, your writting is not... that. As anyone else pointed out, look at your follower count. That writting, and how your fics are, are the reason why you have a heck of a lot of followers. Still, I hope life gets alright with you.
On the subject of you not watching the show anymore... Well, it's your decision. While the last couple of months had been quite rocky for Friendship is Magic, I think the show can be still good. Just ignore the bad side, focus on the good side, and don't expect too much. Still, it's your decision. Not gonna force you to watch it again.

I'm sorry to hear of your retirement, but at least we'll still have your stories to remember you by. I myself am starting to worry about losing interest in the show in the exact same way you mentioned, but I have vowed to stay with it until it ends.
I hope you will return to FIMFiction one day.
