Quick Update! · 9:23am Dec 7th, 2017
Hey all you lovely folks!
As any of you who read the author note on the latest chapter of PoE knows, I was laid off about 3 weeks ago, and it has been a little rough. I'm a pretty optimistic guy, but that can only carry you so far, and it's been a weird few weeks.
That being said, I want to thank all of you so much(again )! The two most common comments I got on the last chapter were condolences about my job troubles and people telling me how much they still love PoE, both of which have meant more than I think I could ever tell you. It really made a positive difference in my outlook over the past week and visiting the site to see lovely comments and likes was so much nicer than staring at my email inbox and waiting for messages from hiring managers and recruiters.
Now for the big news, about 18 hours ago I went in and nailed an interview, and about 10 hours ago I accepted a job offer from a company I really like, for about 60% more pay over my old job and I don't think it would have happened without the support of you beautiful readers.
Of course the small bit of bad news is this likely means I'll be back to my usual non-schedule of 6+ months between chapters, and it'll possibly be even worse for a bit while I'm dealing with integrating into the new job, but as usual take heart in knowing I have no plans to disappear and leave my stories unfinished, and since I have about a month until I start my new position, I'm gonna promise at least 1 new chapter for PoE before then, and hopefully a new chapter for This Can't Be Legal as well since I love that story and it is so much fun to write.
Anyways, yet again, please accept my undying thanks, and cheers to y'all! I'm gonna continue to get celebratorily drunk, as is my way.
Congratz
Hurray!!!! Congrats man!!!!
Fucking nice!! Glad to hear that pal. It will be weird not seeing ya but I am glad to see you will still update PoE. It is a good read
Congrtatulations and my respect for finding a new job so soon.
Congratulations! Of course, we all understand that real life comes before fanfiction. As long as you don't abandon your stories, that's good enough for me.
Congrats!
I'm glad to hear this. Do what you need to do. And remember...
