🐞🐞Miraculous Ladybug S2E3: "Prime Queen" (SPOILERS)🐞🐞 · 3:12pm Oct 29th, 2017
Yeah yeah. Failed roll against willpower. I'm absolutely stopping here, though--no more sneaking peeks at leaked episodes before the season hits Netflix in December.
Nadja Chamack (Don't be bemused, it's just the news!) just got her shot at a primetime talk show slot. But her producer is putting a lot of pressure on her, and her first show is an interview with Ladybug and Chat Noir.
Ladybug is late showing up (because Marinette had to trick Alya into babysitting Manon in her place), and from the start, the interview is a disaster because Nadja is determined to ask questions the two heroes don't want to answer and the caller questions they get are...well, one's Chloe and the other's Alya and Manon. Sensing doom in the air, Nadja tries to spice things up by forcing Ladybug and Chat Noir to confess that they're a lovey-dovey couple, and even throws up a bunch of pictures taken WAY the hell out of context (from Dark Cupid, Bother Christmas, and Stormy Weather) to "prove" their relationship. Ladybug gets fed up and storms off, Nadja's ratings tank, and she loses her show before she even really has it.
Hawk Moth Akumatizes her into Prime Queen. Prime Queen, determined to get a big ratings blowout, puts first Chloe, then Alya in mortal peril to drag the heroes into traps designed to force them to reveal either their love for each other or their secret identities.
This...was pretty much the darkest overall episode of the series so far, and shows hints of the more serious, sinister tone Miraculous Ladybug was originally meant to have. I kinda hope we see more episodes like this in season 2--not too many more, mind, but it'd be nice if the big episodes like the inevitable reveals are more like this episode in tone.
So they know now? I can't find the episode

So who knows what? This wasn't an important reveal episode or anything. It was just another monster of the week episode. The only big major episode so far is S2E1 "The Collector".

Which, in all honesty, wasn't much of a reveal. I mean, it was pretty obvious.

A good third of the fandom was convinced Hawk Moth was somebody else and Gabriel was the peacock hero.
Found this on tumblr about ep 1
do you agree?

I believe Gabriel has become lost inside the monster he created. Whatever his intentions were in the beginning, he has become the mask. He is very much like Walter White in that regard, except that Gabriel was an asshole BEFORE he broke bad.
I saw this one on YouTube, and I didn't think that it was that much darker than most other episodes. For me the darkest episodes were "Timebreaker" (she basically killed off two thirds of the cast!), and "The Puppeteer (Hawk Moth akumatized a child for crying out loud!). But hey, that's just my opinion.
Now if one of Marinette's parents actually got akumatized---that would be fucking dark.

Nadja attempted to bully two children into confessing a love affair in front of a national television audience, then her Akumatized form did the same thing only with the explicit threat of murdering two other children to force the issue.
If that's not dark, I don't know what the fuck IS.

Fair point. I suppose the combination of Chat's eagerness to "play along", Ladybug's stone-faced refusal, and me knowing how she would have reacted if she had known who was behind the mask softened it for me.
Wait, is the Christmas special considered canon according to this episode? I was unable to watch it last year (I could only watch the Disney Channel on like one TV) and I'm gonna try and see if it reruns this year.

The Christmas special is canon period.

Okay, thank you for the clarification. Really kicking myself for not watching it last year now.
