Finally moved in! · 1:31am Aug 28th, 2017
Well, a few days ago, to be exact. For those of you out of the loop, I recently finished quite a move. Details abound following the break. Details you won't want to miss...
So, this story begins a few months ago. My good friend FamousLastWords, having been very busy with work, hadn't spoken to me in quite a bit. I can't blame the man, he works 50 hours a week and takes full-time college classes, after all. Dedication is key, folks. Anyways, an offer arises from our first conversation. At the time, I was growing absolutely burnt out with my then-current job. The same routine every day, five days a week, for over a year. No busy spurts, no fun co-workers, etc.
So, hearing my plight, Famous offered me a proposition. If I wasn't completely satisfied with my life in Florida, he could get me a job in Arkansas. Naturally, I ended up taking his offer a little while later.
So now we get to the trip.
1,100 miles. 19 hours.. Nothing but road.
That is, until my car began to overheat in Atlanta. You see, this problem goes way back. During a road trip with my now-fiancee, my car had overheated quite severely. We managed to make it all the way from Macon, Georgia to Jacksonville, Florida. Unbeknownst to me, however, was the fact that the long-term damage had already been dealt.
You see, as I found out in Atlanta, my car was absolutely filled with issues. The most glaring, and pricey, was the engine head. It had warped slightly, allowing combustion gasses to leak into the coolant chamber. Obviously, this meant trouble. After just a few hours of driving, my car would heat up to the point that the needle flew past the 'H' on the temperature gauge.
After 6 days of sitting with my absolutely overbearing grandparents (who had luckily been living in Atlanta), I was off again. What was originally going to be a 19 hour drive turned out to be over a week long, but at least my car is fixed!
And tomorrow is my first day of work at the new job, so to celebrate, here are some pics of my new place!
I am glad that you were able to find a new job and a new place in Arkansas. I wish you success in working at your new job, meeting new people, and enjoying your stay in your new State. :)
Congrats on the move! Glad you made it there safely after the car troubles.
Love the starlight picture
Glad to hear your car didn't turn into an A-bomb on you mid drive, I wouldn't have any shit-fics to look forward to.
Nice dude. Sounds awesome.
quite unfortunate. But I'm glad you safely made it to your destination
