There have been many several attempts at daily stories. Some have failed, some have succeeded, some have merely continued. It is no secret that I am a fan of Austraeoh, one of the longest-running daily stories in existence, if not the longest.
But today, I wanted to tell you about one you probably haven't heard of.
The Olden World, by Czar Yoshi.
An adorable filly Starlight Glimmer leaves Equestria, after everything she cared about was taken away from her. A cutie mark took away her best friend, and Equestria is full of cutie marks, so she... just leaves.
It's one thing to write a chapter every day. And it's an impressive thing. Something I could never do.
But it's another thing entirely to put together a well-crafted narrative that combines all the best aspects of scenery porn, characterization, and an intriguing plot. Czar Yoshi has crafted a cast of characters that are compelling, thoroughly individual, and very much alive.
I highly recommend this story, and encourage anyone with ten minutes left in their day to join the very few of us who are already following this adventure. I was shocked to see that it's already over 93k words. That number may seem intimidating to someone looking to start a daily fic, but, honestly, it's a very easy 93k words to swallow. The prose flows so well, and the story is so engaging, that it truly feels like the story is much shorter than the numbers would suggest, and you're always left wanting more.
So go check it out.
