    Droppin' By

Hello, I was in the neighborhood and had just realized that my last blog post was a bit of a downer, given that it was around the time of my Grandma's passing and funeral. I think I oughta leave you folks with something a bit more upbeat or at least something neutral.

    And Now, A Newsletter

Huh, back in July I said I oughta talk more around here. It's now the day after Christmas and I have not, in fact, talked more around here.

So, I'll give you the rundown on what I've been up to since then. Warning, it gets a little long in talking about last summer's vacation and about a new fixation I have.

Parting's Such Sweet Sorrow · 1:52pm May 17th, 2017

No, don't worry, I'm not leaving the site. If I was, it'd be a gradual and quiet event.

I'm just a little sad that today's the day that my sister Artsy Notes is leaving for her mission. We're dropping her off at the MTC, and soon enough, she's heading off to Arkansas. It was a long time coming, with a whole lot of hoops that she had to jump through that normally people don't have when submitting their mission papers (usually it's just the straightforward process of get the papers, fill them out, submit them, and then wait a few weeks for your mission call). She also had practice runs with some sister missionaries serving locally, and formed some sweet friendships with them.

And then when she finally got her call, everything just moved by so slowly and so quickly at the same time. I don't think I've had enough time to fully process the fact that my sister, my most constant playmate and friend, the girl who looked up to and emulated me, someone who pointed out the kinks in stories and pictures I needed to work out (even if her lack of tact can be irritating), is going to be gone for the next year and a half. I'm not even sure what I'm going to do with her gone.

I'm really proud of her and I know she's going to be a great missionary, but I still can't help but be sad.

She'll probably learn all kinds of interesting things in Brazil, and come back speaking Brazilian-dialect Portuguese. The only Brazilian I knew well was kind of nice.

Huh? :rainbowhuh: She's going to Arkansas.

Funny enough, my brother went to Brazil on his mission.

She'll be back soon enough. Look forward to the stories she'll share and the memories she'll make.

Woops. I confused the two.

Well, I'm sure she'll come back knowing ARKANSAS dialect!:rainbowlaugh:
