4523570 I disliked episode 6 more than episode 5, but that's partly Flutterbias talking. This one was better than either. IMO, of course.

4523570 It's not THAT bad.
Sure, it's the weakest of the season, but only because I feel it's "good", while the rest of the season has ranged from "great" to "amazing".
I honestly consider it to be one of Fluttershy's better episodes, and while it's not among my top 10 or anything, It's still in the top 50, which, considering the amount of episodes that are out, is saying quite a bit.

As for this episode, I personally believe it isn't just the best episode of the season, nor the best RD episode, but the second best episode of the entire series. I say second because Crusaders of the Lost Mark will forever be the best episode of the series, and while this was amazing as well, it's not even close. But that's more because CotLM is just THAT good.
And while I love the entirety, I think my favorite moment in terms of the animation is this bit

I really just don't see how it can be a good episode. Really, Fluttershy asks for help. Rude people are rude. Fluttershy yells at everypony. She then gets her way and creates a slaughter farm sanctuary with predators and prey living together.

And Parental Glideance, well, Rainbow gets embarrassed and yells at everypony. Pretty much it.

Also, I'm gonna have to disagree with Crusaders of the Lost Mark being good, too. Yikes, we disagree on a lot.

4527395 1. Well, like Flutter Brutter, Fluttershy Leans In is a showcase of just how far Fluttershy has come since the beginning of the series.
2. Sure, any episode could be made to sound bad when summed up in one sentence. The quality of an episode is more about the execution of its premise than the premise itself, and for me, Parental Glideance as executed brilliantly. Not only was the comedy excellent, but the last few minutes also deliver in the feels department. And beyond that, the things the pegasi could do with their wings was amazing to look at.
3. I don't think CotLM is a good episode. I think it's a near perfect episode with so much emotion that any and all flaws that might exist are inconsequential. Beyond that, it accomplished what I thought was impossible: Make Diamond Tiara likeable.

1. I think my main problem is that I never liked Flutters. She's been the wrong kind of shy for me. She was the scared kind of shy. So, going into the episode of Flutter Brutter. There, she had to stand up to her family, which is very different than to others. With Fluttershy Leans In, I just got the "Fluttershy yells at everypony" vibe since, well, that's what she did. Yeah, it did take some effort on her part, but it's the kind of thing I would expect from S5-6, not S7. Finally, now they can't do anything with her since there are no more challenges for her to overcome, another reason why it was not so great.
2. Oh, yeah, you got me there. I blame Scootaloo for such a great episode.
3. While I wanted the CMC to get their cutiemarks, I also really didn't. And then the episode came out, and not only gave me cutiemarks, but also tried to make me feel for Diamond Tiara. Which I don't. They set her up to be nothing but a bully, and then they try and make her feeling-worthy. So, I guess this one is more opinion based.

While she was always around the bottom 3 of the mane 6 for me, I never really disliked her. Heck, there are a very small number of characters on the show I've ever disliked, and not one member of the mane cast is among them.

Finally, now they can't do anything with her since there are no more challenges for her to overcome, another reason why it was not so great.

Eh, I'm sure they'll be able to find something for a later Fluttershy episode.

For me, them getting their marks was as inevitable as Scootaloo eventually flying is.
It wasn't/isn't a matter of IF, it was/is a matter of WHEN.
As soon as the synopsis for it came out, that just screamed to me, "At least one of them is getting their cutie mark".

Despite the fact that I hated DT prior to CotLM, I disliked the fact that I hated her so much due to the fact that she's just a child. And hating child characters is something that never sits right with me.
The episode not only provided a reasonable explanation for her behavior, but it also gave me a new character to direct my hatred towards. And a fully grown mare at that.
