I have traveled across the land, searching far and wide... filling up the Monster Arena, that is, so I can purchase Clear Spheres and start grinding to maximum potential. One node at a time I cleared the Sphere Grid and remade it, these sections for Attack, these for Defense...
Now Tidus, Wakka and Rikku (and Yuna, though only for her Aeons) are at 255 for all stats but Luck, and I've got a section of the Sphere Grid marked out for them. MP is 999 which is enough for me. Time to finally grind up HP and then Luck. Come next weekend I should be ready for the Dark Aeons.

Realistically you should be able to defeat Valefor and Ifrit right now. They're nowhere near as strong as the others.
4490575 I already beat Valefor via the Magus Sisters (needed to get the Auron Sphere and temple spheres).
The rest, eh, I'm an organized kind of guy. Take them all down in one swoop.
Ultimate Strategy for Dark Bahumet:
Breah HP Limit, Auto Regen, Solo character with Celestial Weapon that has Counterattack, Defend the whole battle! If not, I hope you know how Dispel works!
(Man, I wish I had been able to play the version that had the Dark Aeons...)
