So, uh.
I dunno about you guys, but in the last 24 hours, FiMfiction's banners have thrown ads at me for Ukrainian Mail Order Brides, and something called "Brony Mate."
I find this more than a little disturbing.
On the other hand, perhaps I should learn how to say "Hey baby, my story made the featured box" in Ukrainian. Y'know. Just in case.
That made me laugh. That's awesome thank you!
For like three months I kept getting ads for a dating site aimed at single Jewish women. I'm a dude, an atheist, and have been married for sixteen years. Whatever algorithm they're using to serve ads to us is thoroughly not working.
No Ukrainian brides as far as I've noticed, but the Brony Mate ads have been showing up for months on my pages.
There are ads for things other than Bronymate on here?
4462408 Yeah, there's nothing more discouraging for me to see than an ad for "Meet mature women" for the 50+ crowd.
A) I'm married.
B) I haven't been 50 all that long yet.
C) My fake profile for Georg has a different age on it (can't be too careful in this age of id theft) so how do they know?

I seem to recall that this site uses Google Ads, so it probably knows how old you are based on your search history on Google.
It may also be cookie tracking (some ad companies use those - not sure if FIMFiction uses such companies, though).
All Comixology, all the time. For weeks.
The Latina dating app is a vast improvement over Danny Trejo brandishing a machete at me and advertising some sort of video transmission service.
But BronyMate has been a standard forever and aye, hasn't it? Or maybe I'm thinking of Equestria Daily's ad servers.
I keep getting Bronymate ads as well as consistently ones for some game called Riptiders, which is especially weird since I don't play hardly any sort of games, online or otherwise, ever.
