If you managed to tune into my Skyrim stream, you might have noticed that I have a custom follower mod, Recorder. I get frustrated with her since there is no way to shut off her attack scripts, but the commentary and the added quests she has are pretty nice, and it gives you a summon for a little follower that essentially is a walking storage unit. Helpful for all those dragon scales and bones you tend to pick up.
She starts the game off with dual obsidian swords, an obsidian bow and arrows, and a nifty outfit. The armor class sucks, though, and she goes down quite a few times. I've smithed some armor for her but I'm still not sure how much it helps.
