Zef and Moth Present: Fun With Figma (Featuring Ponies!) · 10:02pm Jan 28th, 2017
So last week, Zef added the newly released Hikaru Shidou (from Magic Knight Rayearth) Figma to his collection. Zef's been collecting these figures for a while now.
I got my Hikaru Figma earlier this week. Hikaru is my first Figma. I've got tons of ponies and two whole boxes of Transformers I no longer have the space to display or play with, but I've never had a Figma before. I've gotta say, these things are cool. Zef's been sharing photos of his figures and the fun he has posing and playing with them for years.
I've only taken a couple of pictures of Hikaru (including the one above); I might take some more later. I have to apologize for the shitty pics; I'm a notoriously bad photographer and I have a worthless camera. The bulk of the pictures I'm sharing are Zef's pictures of the new Hikaru figure and his older Ranma figures. He's asked me to share these since he doesn't really use his FiMF blog and has far less of a follower base than I do, so fewer people would enjoy them.

4400510 I'd LOVE to "collect" them, trust me. But I don't have remotely enough (a) money or (b) shelf space for that. Hikaru was a present.
If I had the money for this hobby, I'd have started a LONG time ago with the Ranma ones or that one Sailor Saturn one. This is very much a one-off thing.
(That having been said, just being able to pose Hikaru atop Celestia like that makes this an epic win.)

My collection started with Aigis and Metis from Persona 3 FES (hence the bonus Korumaru that came with Metis). Then I got Thanatos. Then I got Izanagi (both versions). Then Samus Aran and a Predator Warrior (both of them locked in eternal combat on my shelf). Then Raidou Kuzunoha and Labrys. Then a Dalek and the Tenth Doctor. Then Elizabeth. Then Saber v2.0. Then Sadako from The Ring. THEN Bandai finally decided to make the Ranma figs and I stopped collecting until THOSE came out --and I currently have both Ranmas and Shampoo, and I'm getting Akane as soon as she's available. I also got Bruce Lee and Yu Narukami when female Ranma and Shampoo came out, respectively.
Posing goofy, nonsensical scenarios is more fun than battles, even if I have enough special effects to create some damn good action dioramas. :)
4400474 I wanted to see if she could do a handstand. Ironically, it never worked with both hands, but it DID work with one hand and by bending the legs JUST RIGHT to provide balance. She'd fall over if you breathed too hard, though.

There's not even a lot of merch I want and I can sympathize with this, in particular the lack of shelf space. I've been forced to mostly go with posters to satisfy that itch.
