I just don't know what it is... But... I just can't seem to focus on my stories recently... It sucks. 
So I've been devoting time to both Editing and character for the additional Queens... Hoping that something stirs in my mind...Chipping away the blocks and More on Changelings · 10:19pm Nov 20th, 2016
So, I wanted to put this out there so that all of you would be told, but I am finally passed this accursed block and am ready to start writing once again. Though I still have a bit of school work to attend to as well, so probably won't be as free as I would like. I'm hoping to get the next chapter of Hives finished before the end of the year, and with any luck I can probably manage that and possibly a bit more. I would love to get this stuff out before then but still, I make no promises.
Even though I can say that I wasn't working on the story during the block period, I tried to work on more background stuff that was on my mind such as the other Hives of the nations and how they all play off of each other. As well as a bit of mythology based things that I doubt many of you care about.
Now over that time, I decided to watch a bit of the newest season... Specifically the finale.... And.... HOO boy... Do I have a few things to say...
WARNING SPOILERS FOR SEASON 6
For those who don't care about spoilers and clicked on this anyway, the Changelings gain a new 'Good' form... And what do I think?
It's stupid.
No... That's it... It looks stupid.
The Changelings are supposed to be a stealthy race, so why in the world would sharing love turn them into these technicolored moose looking things. One of the main reasons I liked the Changelings was how different they were to the rest of the show, they weren't colorful, they were dark and mysterious. A very different type of creature to the Ponies, Horses, Yaks, Griffons. With this new form, they just... Don't stand out as much and aren't as original as the standard Changelings.
Not only that, but now that the 'Good' Changelings all have this rainbow barf Moose look, that limits some of the creativity for writers of the fandom after this event. Making them see all bad changelings as the standard design and the new 'Allola' Changelings as the good guys.
But what does that mean for our resident Changelings? Spinnekop and Shade? Well, to me it means complete jack. I will NEVER be including that particular transformation into my stories. Since I probably will never get to that point in the timeline... Personally, it was a design failure, I would have much more preferred the sharing of love simply fixing the holes in their legs. That would have gotten the point across so much easier.
Or what about Good chrysalis?
Why not just use this design? Granted Chrysalis isn't reformed.... But this is a much more interesting design to me than this new moose guy.
Who knows... I may fall in love with the designs later... But right now... I've rambled too much...
I just call them Gummilings...
4310459 Hmmm.... I might use that too... Or Alola-Lings. I'm not sure which.
My theory is that one of the show artist's kids ate a box of crayons and barfed on their moose figurine and that's what inspired the new Barflings.
As you might've guessed, I'm not a fan of the new design at all, it takes away all that made changelings interesting and unique. The writers basically murdered the entire race.
Not to mention the great message: 'you can be good! If you look good' or 'will totally accept anyone... As long as they look more like us.'
What always cheers me up is my theory that, since all the voiced drones are male, Chryssie was the only female and now the Barflings are doomed to slowly die out.

I wonder what they even feed off of now? The whole love schtick the went with hints at perpetual motion levels of impossibility which is my main gripe. "Oh let's give up all of what we feed on to somehow become stronger."
4310464 Are you planning an official sequel to 'Converted'? Because the epilogue certainly got me excited for what happens next in Shade's/Sunstreak's story.
4310867 Yes I am working on a sequel, God knows when it will be out. But it is all about Shade's first year living in Ponyville. All the wacky stuff included.
4310860 I'm not really sure, but the way they explained it, it seems as though they still feed off love, but that they share the love between each other. Which doesn't make sense because Love seems to be a limited resource to the Changelings or else they would never have had to leave from the nation they started in.
i do agree with you on their 'new' form its quite out of character for the race of changelings and the colors... not even very creative seriously. just why.

in the past (pre s6) changlings were under developed and left lot to work with but are still epic
now.. its like: "i need to stop taking acid and going painting at the same time... i mean look what i did to this moose! get the shotgun.... im putting it out of its misery."
they turned the best species in mlp into a joke on existence!
This redesign it actually a fortunate event for me.
Now I can give my OC the color scheme of this and get away with it.
4310860 I think the changelings' act of "Sharing love" made them function similarly to humans in the Gurren Lagann universe. They can just infinitely produce energy forever with no need of any refueling at all.
But you see, there is also this thing in the Gurren Lagann universe called the Spiral Nemesis, where the energy in the universe becomes so great that the universe destroys itself because it can't contain that much energy. This makes me fear what might happen to the changelings.
