Chipping away the blocks and More on Changelings

So, I wanted to put this out there so that all of you would be told, but I am finally passed this accursed block and am ready to start writing once again. Though I still have a bit of school work to attend to as well, so probably won't be as free as I would like. I'm hoping to get the next chapter of Hives finished before the end of the year, and with any luck I can probably manage that and

    Have A Thing

So.............. There has been like... No content flow. And I am sorry for that, but I'm still having trouble writing the stories... :ajsleepy: I just don't know what it is... But... I just can't seem to focus on my stories recently... It sucks. :ajbemused: So I've been devoting time to both Editing and character for the additional Queens... Hoping that something stirs in my mind...

Hello, it has been quite a long time since I've posted anything here... Mostly due to me losing a spark to write these stories, and also me writing world building and backstory things for the Queens of the Hives.

In that time, I have mostly forgotten many details of my older stories and decided to come back to look at them and I have to say... :applejackconfused: My god Converted was badly written.
Not that it was fully unexpected, being the first story I ever wrote and all, but just... my god how much the second half kinda... falls apart. Having forgotten much of the second half of the story, basically just looking at the titles of the chapters reminded me how... Non-sensical a lot of it is. Which admittedly is my fault.

A little background on the Converted story for those interested :ajsmug: Much of the story was laid out until Shade and Meadow return to Canterlot, at which point it was supposed to end, but THEN, I had another idea and wanted to roll with it, which could basically sum up a lot of the end of Converted now that I really think about it. :derpyderp2:

Now I don't "Hate" the second half, hell the second half was probably one of the biggest things that helped me build the world of Converted, introducing Queens Cytes, Pupa, and Ovi, as well as giving us little Echo and the Joyful Hive Member Surprise. Aside from that, and a few other things I'm missing, it is largely a bunch of stuff thrown in a blender and spat out again.

So I began to wonder, could I do it better now and how would I go about it? Removing the fluff that is unimportant and frankly unnecessary while still keeping those things listed above within the story and therefore overall world. I do not wish to rewrite the entire story, and even if I did it would likely take me 2 years given how slowly I've been writing nowadays. Plus I don't want to lose much of the original tale, I mean yeah... Admittedly it's pretty bad in the second half, but I am still somewhat proud of it.

So here is what my current idea is, I wish to attempt to rewrite the first half of the story (Up to Chapter 16) in my newer style of writing, now that I have much of the world figured out and know how things operate a bit better, I believe I can make the first portion somewhat more coherent, while still keeping much of the substance the same within (With some very notable changes)
The BIG change however would come after where Chapter 16 is... At which point, the story would (Hopefully) be wholly different to the first iteration.

My intent with this is to try and fix up a lot of the second half and fix all the things that bothered me about my writing style back then, as well as possibly give more detail on the Fjords (Something that was extremely lacking back then). The fact that the first half will be somewhat similar to the initial story would get me a way to get back into the flow of the world and story before continuing in the second half.

I am not sure how many people would be interested in this, as Converted is already one of the longest things I've ever written and has stories spiraling off it like some kinda mutated Berry bush, alongside the fact I don't know whether people would want to read events similar to the first 16 chapters Again before things get changed up later.

That is also not the only news I bring. :trollestia: Over the past, like, 3 years I have written some... Micro stories about a few of the Queens that have yet to see daylight in any written stories, and I wanted to know if those still interested would want to see what's going on with some other Changelings. If so, I will try to look through them and put up another post about the possible stories that would spring from there and let people decide which ones they want to see.
In terms of who you may see:
-Queen Pupa of the Warrior Hive
-Queen Adesina of the Doubt Hive
- Queen Phobia of the Hive of Fear
-Queen Aburi of the Technology Hive
- Queen Evangeline of the Charity Hive
and others. :yay:

If you would be interested in either the possible rewrites or new tales of the Queens, feel free to let me know your thoughts on either of these two possible projects.

I would read it

I've reread the original at least twice.

While I do love the original story all the way through, I'd like to see a rewrite of it.

Rewrite, but as a separate story altogether. I liked the original a lot, and would love to do a comparison.
BTW, Welcome back, hope I can help you with other stories too.

I liked it quite a lot. I would love to see a alternate "better" version. The first one has a special place in my heart so I might be a bit biased.

Although I might be too late to help change your mind anyways :ajsleepy:

Either way, thank you for the many years and hours of entertainment. It meant, and still means, the world to me!
