Lately I've Been Addicted to Numberphile · 7:25pm Nov 20th, 2016

Numberphile is a YouTube channel that looks at interesting bits of university-level mathematics and explains them in terms that hopefully somebody with a high school understanding of the subject can understand. It relates many of them back to practical applications like detecting election fraud, choosing doughnuts, and dividing pizza fairly. I highly recommend it.

But in particular, I wanted to show you this one video:

Because it deals with Zeno's Paradox, the same problem I based a story on.

People who like numbers may also be interested in noting that Zeno's Paradox is exactly 1000 words, and has story ID 250000 on fimfiction.

I know you are, but what am I?

Numberphile is one of my favorite channels on YouTube. :)

You can go ahead and say it. I totally am one.

Numberphile's great

I'm glad that stories with high amounts of intellect are being read on this website. The YT channel also sounds like it would be of interest to many.

4310191 Sexy... I feel like the answer is sexy.

oh no, not another nerd! :raritydespair:

4310191 That's a pre school level comeback

You're a pre school level comeback!

4310255
Teehee, that's a Maddie-level comeback!

I know. That's the most advanced level of comeback.

You're alfalfa!

Not sure I've seen the second film. First one was good though, as was the TV series. Towards the end, when the actors were all clearly in their late 20s, it became somewhat ridiculous though.

4310297 You should watch it, it's good

I just felt that scene was suitable

See you on Tuesday.

I tried to watch the video, but I couldn't complete it.

I had already watched half of this video before. Now I watched a half of what was left. If I keep this up, will I ever complete it?

I love me some Numberphile, and Computerphile too!

I probably should have added :trollestia: to that comment.

Nopony? Nopony? Okay.

:facehoof:

I tried the more subtle route, alas. :ajbemused:

Don't worry. I got it.

Do you listen to Hello Internet?

Alright Vital, you know those cool numbers about your story? I have way cooler numbers. For example, I was born on April 28th, 1999. Now, this isn't the interesting part. What you should know is that the exact time was 03:14 AM. You read that right, I was born on the Pi hour. My school ID number is 020020020, and when reversed, it's 020020020. You know the text/voice app Discord? My user number is 0314. Pi again. And, the best of all of these: My math grades? Every single one of them is a perfect 10.

Another fun fact: Earlier this year, when studying Zeno's Paradox, I used this same math to prove to the teacher that one of the questions in the test was wrong. He then told me "Zeno didn't have that math so this still stands" and didn't listen to my complaints.

4311309 You shouldn't have tried being subtle. According to a thesaurus I opened, subtle can be a synonym for discrete, and, since we're dealing with rational numbers and whatnot, you can't use discrete math here. If you wanted discrete, should have just completed the video as a whole.

Yes I opened a thesaurus to confirm that just so I could make this joke. Am I a Math addict?

4311478
You're a math addict once you can explain why proof of the existence of nonprincipal ultrafilters requires the axiom of choice. :twistnerd:

Oh geez. Now I need to change my panties. :twilightblush:
