So, some time ago I talked about how nice it would be to do a D&D 5e group. Well, I think it's about time to do it. Couple issues, Who is going to play? I'd like to have a group of 3-5 people, and then myself as the DM.
First off, Skype is a requirement.
Secondly, we'd be using Roll20 for the tabletop portions, so you'd have to have an account on that.
Third, the players would have to be able to be present consistently. Likely it would be a weekly event, and it would be rather annoying if people never show up, or only pop in once. If you're not gonna be there consistently, let someone who is take the slot.
Fourth, it would be NICE if someone had recording software so it could be posted to Youtube, via the account of whoever is recording, and also it could be done as a twitch stream, though that isn't required.
Other than that, I have no idea how to pick people.
The first session would be a character creation session where we lay down some ground rules, decide how certain things work ahead of time, and come up with the party so I can work some of the backstories into the campaign, and somewhat tailor the campaign to the party composition to make it challenging, but fair.
In terms of D&D experience, it's helpful to have some, but it's not required.
If you're interested in playing, put your availability in the comments of this post. I'll limit the list to people with a similar availability as myself. (kind of necessary since I'll be DMing, I kind of need to be there) and then I'll select from among them... somehow.
*Edit* It will likely be midweek afternoon, either Wednesday or Thursday. As I live in southern Ontario, it's -5 UTC. Sometime after HIGH NOON. Like... 3 or 5 pm maybe? Ill figure it out based on applicants.
what are you going to do about the time? I mean you might have people from I don't, Russia and the US just for an example
I'd be willing to do it. My work schedule is slightly chaotic though.
I am willing to do this. I have moderate experience with DnD 5e and a rather open schedule. I am free after noon time on all days except some fridays. However, I do not have any recording software. (I live in NC, so timezone EST)
All time is eastern standard time. Probably midweek afternoon, so if you're Europe it'd be morning for you.
Times like this I really hate not having Skype.

Ayyyyy I'm with 4272512 and I'd love to join you I've been playing for about 6 years now and know the rules for 5e, I'll be available for for the times you put, also pretty flexible with my schedule if it changes.
EDIT: I also have a skype to, I suppose that's pretty important.

I would love to. I work evenings, 6pm-3am (UTC -5), my off days on Monday and Tuesday. I used to play D&D in high school, but there's no one around here to play with.
Yeah... so... seems like everyone has way different availability. Some are like 'must be before 4pm.' others are 'gotta be after 430'

So, if it were Wholewheat, Dardak and Shirotora, it could be like noon to 3 or 4pm (UTC-5), which works for me as well, on either wednesday or thursday... prolly Wednesday. so that's 3 people. I mean, we COULD do a game with just that, though I'll wait to see if anybody else chimes in.

Though it I am Wednesdays after 5:45pm, Thursdays after 4:30pm, and basically all weekends with prior notification. If I know ahead of time I can build my character early to make up for being a bit late if that'd be okay I am a sucker for Tabletop and rarely get to play anymore. I'd gladly join, I just want to know what edition you'd be running (3.5, Pathfinder, 4th, 5th, etc). I have lost of experience with both Pathfinder and 3.5, but getting to learn the others shouldn't be an issue. The time that you have suggested (Wednesday-Thursday in the afternoon) is a perfect time for me, as I have nothing to do most weekday afternoons, so I can easily attend every session.

Am I too late to join? I would be willing to do anything ranging from player to DM support. I have skype and a players handbook. In terms of DM support I could bounce ideas for/ flesh out dungeons towns and the world, act as voice acting if needed, be a stat tracker, or control babysitter NPC.
