So, In case you haven't noticed, I haven't updated since that last chapter I made. Well, that's because I don't have home internet. I'm using my phone to set up a mobile hotspot. While I have unlimited data, and don't have to worry about overages, I don't have unlimited high speed. So, while I still have high speed, I can do whatever I want, but once it's out......
Well, lets just say it takes me 10 entire minutes to pay my bills online. Do you have any idea how hard it is to write when after you press the 'save' button, it shows it loading forever and you're not sure if it really saved or is still in the process and if you leave the page to check something, or shut it off for the night, or take a break, or go to work or whatever, if it actually saved, and when you come back it's not going to be a blank page?
First world problems.
In any case, it's given me some time to really, REALLY think about the next few chapters, and...

That's right. We're drawing to a close folks. The end is neigh! I've already though up the perfect ending. It's just a matter of getting there.
To be honest, I'll be kind of sad once it's done. I really enjoyed writing it, and getting all the feedback, but I don't want it to be one of those things that goes on forever and slowly turns more and more crap as it goes *cough* certain specific anime/manga *cough* BUUUT I'll also be able to pick up other stories that have been on the back burner for YEARS. Coincidentally, they're all also near their ends.
I have difficulty finishing things.
Once they're done, I think I'll take a break from writing and just read stories for a while. Down the road I might make some of the spinoffs I had in mind, like Beach House Derpy, or that thing with Seth as a teenager, but that'll be later on. Or, I might not do them, and go in a different direction.
I just figured I'd give you all an update, since I kind of dropped off the radar for a month. Don't worry, I'm not dead!
There was a 14 month period where the only way I could get on to the internet was through a Ps3. That was not fun.
Also didn't you once mention there would be three books? the second one would 'be quiet' before everything hit the fan in the third, Or something like that?
On the internet front, I know your pain when it comes to saving chapters. Every now and again my connection will just drop out. Somehow, in setting up a repeater in my house to boost the range, the tech boys inadvertently created two Wi-Fi set-ups, both with the same name, only the old one no longer exists.
So every now and again, my laptop locks onto the old one and I end up with a 'DNS not responding' message. 
The big Dunn went off the page... whoa... and maybe try an internet café. :)

Why don't you save locally and make sure the first usage of your high speed every month is updating the current chapter you're working on?
3916043 You could make a third with each chapter being a small side-adventures griffin has after Falling Feathers and/or Seth growing up.

3918039 Because my local save programs have different formatting, which means I have to sort through it all when I transfer to the Fimfiction type section. Also, I haven't been without internet long enough to come up with that sort of system. Aslo, I now HAVE internet again, so it's no longer an issue. Just got it installed like, 3 minutes ago as of this comment.
