I've recently made some edits to Office Love. For those who have already read the story, it's probably not very important. In fact, in my personal opinion, it's not much of a change at all. But it's worth stating since I'm picking the project back up this year.
Main Change:
Trotsdale/Trottingham is now Manehattan
Explanation:
When I started this story, I was really bad at keeping (what I consider) small details straight. As I've grown as a writer, these small details clearly make up for what makes a story feel well thought out and planned from A to B. Like I want Office Love to be. Especially since we're churning out at LEAST 6 full length chapters for it.
Other changes:
Minor spelling and grammatical changes throughout.
Combined paragraphs and attempted to fix as many 'dialogue formatting' errors as possible.
Made a few scenes a little clearer.
Removing the "This story is old" warning from chapter 1.
Aside from technical side, there's no story elements being changed. There might be some extra foreshadowing with how I've re-tweaked some paragraphs, but I doubt that it will allude to too much.
Yes, we're really jumping back into this. This really will be my next focused big project, even if it doesn't have the attention or visibility that my current stories / new stories have.
Cool. I was wondering when this story would live again. Lol :) good to know that we will be getting new updates.

Huh, any reason in particular you're changing the location name? Are you basing some locations on actual memories of Manhattan, or maybe the city's name mistakenly changed from chapter to chapter and I never noticed?
I suppose it doesn't really matter, but now you've got me curious.

The name of the city is completely irrelevant to the overall story.
BUT.
It started as manehattan. Mostly because I'm like "It's new york! But pony new york!" and then one day I was obsessed with milky way and mistakenly used Trotting ham. People went with it, until I switched back to manehattan again, and was called out on. So I fixed it.
Then, manehattan actually had an episode on the show. And it wasn't as much of a "city-city" as, say Canterlot. In fact. Most Manehattan ponies have some sort of crazy accent. And one of the reasons I really liked using Manehattan was that there was ZERO show significance. No Babs. No Coco Pommel. No Rarity boutique. My wonderful little city had been tarnished by the show. Tarnished in that, Fluttershy then had fallbacks. In Office Love, it's important to emphasize that Fluttershy has nothing now. And I got it in my head that the show's Canon suddenly changed that.
So I tried to adapt to the show. First Trottingham. Then Trotsdale.
And you know what? Now fuck it. Fuck it all. This storyline takes place BEFORE Twilight's coronation. And I'm going to make a gentle reminder of that in coming chapters. I'm going back to the original vision, because I always refer to it as Manehattan anyway. Let's just do what feels natural.

I see! Thanks for the answer. I haven't really followed the show since season 3 so I wouldn't have caught the canon contradiction at all, but I totally agree with the conclusion you reached. You don't have to stick to canon like glue if you don't want to, and recognizing that is what actually allowed me to buckle up and finish my last story.
Carry on, then! I'm so hyped for more Office Love!
