What it feels like to have multiple stories begging to be written...expressed in dialogue · 4:18am Jul 9th, 2016

Me: Okay we're gonna write tonight. SYS-TER, I got you in a technology-based story as an artificial intelligence, so what do you want?

SYS-TER: Make sure I'm portrayed in a way that will reflect in all other tales you've written in the same universe

Me: Uh huh

SYS-TER: Make sure the setting is really good. nothing simple

Me: Okay

SYS-TER: And make sure to show off the technology

Me: Fine

Adam Jensen: Make sure my story is referenced somehow

Me: Look, I didn't ask for this...this input from you Jensen

Megan Williams: What about my horror story?

Me: What about your story, Megan?

Megan Williams: People love horror. Why haven't you written another chapter?

Me: IT'S BEEN TWO DAYS, MEGAN

Adam Jensen: Six for me.

Sweetie Derelle: Bwa?

Me: No, I"m not ready to write another crackfic about you setting something on fire

Sweetie Derelle: BWA?

Me: NO, I'm not going to write that crossover fic just yet where you fight a ninja!

Pinkie and Rainbow Dash: When are you gonna write another pony intimacy fic?

Me: WHEN I'M IN THE MOOD FOR IT

Pinkie and Rainbow Dash: ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Me: YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN

This has been a dramatization of what happens in my head every day. Only slightly inaccurate

Sadly, all the franchises in my head are like this

4079270 Indeed Sugarcube

The voice in my head is sometimes similar. Since I don't write, mine mostly make "what-ifs" to stories I read, mostly being "What if out incredibly overpowered OCs where inserted in this?" Seriously, My mind had 3 OP OCs in there. One's the god of of time, space, and all of life, death, and creation, and the others are his little brothers. One's the god of balance and justice, who can transform and split into 5 weaker forms, grey, white(good), gold(powerful good), black(evil), and red (powerful evil) though the core form, grey, is still stronger than the others, and has a humanoid, satyr, pony, monster, and gem form, because reasons. The third is Umbra, a dark god and lord of shadows. And yes, the others have Latin-based names related to their powers/domains. Dominus Spatium-Tempus, and Ultimum Judicium. I am very unoriginal with my names.

The voices also make an unfortunate amount of sex jokes...

HAH! Glad I could be of service :D

4079497

Sounds like you have three potential writing topics there :D *hugsa*

4079743 So I have four possible OCs, but the problem is that they're all overpowered and one that, in my mind's story, became the Emperor of Equestria because he has the ability to use magic without a horn and is aware of the different timelines, is an actual Gary Stu. The other three are ****ing gods, though the trio does have an order of power. By the way, one of them is based off of one of my Skyrim characters, and another originally had a backstory in one of the Conversion Bureau stories which crossed-over with Undertale.

4079746

Well here's a way to look at it: If they're gods, then have them be challenged by OTHER gods and goddesses, titans, mythological mega-beings and such. Make it so them being gods is normal with everyone else. THEN it'll be a challenge when they face other gods :)

4079749 One of them is the god of space, time, all of creation, life, and death. He's the eldest brother, because of course they're brothers, and he's actually lazy and doesn't do much, but with a single thought he can obliterate entire dimensions, because of course it's the multiverse. He can't be challenged, even if all of the gods got together and fought against him. What holds him back is his laziness, his morals, and how doing that is boring.

Not shown: Popcorn, pillow fights, and milkshakes

4079270 at least u dont hear a a short irish dude telling u to burn things .......jk......or am i?:pinkiecrazy:

Jensen would participate more in the pillow fights, but every time he bursts through the wall to hit Megan with a pillow, she freaks out, pulls her shotgun out of reflex and knocks him down like to 50 percent health as he's blasted out the window and into the pool.

Don't ask Megan why she always carries a shotgun. She's sensitive about it.

The only thing these guys have set fire to is the dance floor

He seems really OP :P But I'm sure you can come up with something :) *hugs*

On a vaguely related note, I also have a problem with one of my story concepts being populated by a multiverse of eldritch abominations who also happen to grudgingly act as space police. (A few pics on deviant art and my avatar are concept art of this TGMT)

Essentially, the ideas of "something is always stronger" and "everything exists sometimes."
Setting: Multiverse, but its technically far less populated then most other multiverse depictions. Its supposed to be based around stuff only existing when there are sufficient minds believing in its existence. Aka the Harry Potter "universe" didn't exist until Rowling published The Philosopher's Stone. Illogical developments or plot holes strain the existence of the universe, and may vary back and forth until it stabilizes. Also, everything is "universe", including the multiverse just mentioned. Everything is in a massive, unending conga line of multiverse chains.
The Outside is a relative position of being outside a major universe, though still technically inside their own universe. This place is populated by essentially ghosts and monsters that feed off the "imagination" energy that powers every single universe. A good number of them want to eat said universes, Fortunately (or not), enough skilled Outsiders fight them off and keep them at bay. The only way its possible for the relatively small numbers to fight off the larger, more corrupted versions of themselves is because time and space is an optional concept, helped along by the fact that they're also essentially zombies who don't have a mind that needs to comprehend any of this.
Yet, one by one, they fall prey to their inner demons and have to be eliminated by their superiors, as there's always someone stronger.

Until the strongest one of them all falls, and for a brief moment, the multiverse is threatened with collapse. However, there's still one who doesn't fall. The weakest one of them all, because it was kidnapped from a universe so its soul can be sacrificed. Imaginational energy is something Outsiders can never truly wield. One soul burned allows the sacrifice to reset the Outside, and become the new strongest.

Also, all 4 of their personalities are based off of slightly twisted and changed aspects of my mind. All of my Empathy went to the one that's an emperor, which means that he feels horrible if he kills an ant. That's less empathy than I actually have: The thought of killing an ant brings a feeling of great guilt and shame upon me. All of them have morals based off my own, but the only one truly containing empathy is the one I would use the least, because he can't rip holes in reality to transport himself great distances.

Also, you know how I mentioned that the strongest one, the lord of everything, is extremely lazy? I'm lazy.

4080930

Whoa, where can I read this? It sounds awesome! :D

4080950

That's really intriguing. Empathy as a core theme is also something I empathize with (ironically enough). :)

4083429
It's a cool concept, sure, but I haven't figured out what to do with a society of anti-social universe editors. Hell, in my notes, one of their "attacks" is literally modifying the local gravitational constant. Suddenly, a small cluster of air molecules exerts the same amount of force as being two feet from the surface of Jupiter. And that's one of their more tame abilities.
On a sidenote: this is like the 4th or 5th iteration of the concept, and each time the "universe" seems to get progressively bleaker. (I jokingly call it The Great Multiverse Theory, or TGMT, since it can sorta apply for any scenario, even illogical ones. They just don't exist for very long)
[1: Stick figure redraws himself]
[2: Guy gets powers by accident, decides to recruit dead people to save the multiverse]
[3: Guy gets powers by accident, the Outsiders capture him and train him to be a ruthless warrior to prepare him for the Reset. Guy resists, but his sanity frays. Attempts to stave off by deleting his own memories]
[4: A cold-hearted soldier stands alone in a world of monsters. Old habits keep him slightly better than the rest, and unpredictable. Refrains from bladed weapons, because they're flashy. And flashy leads to showmanship. And showmanship leads to bloodlust.]
As for story ideas, really, the only things I can think up is
1) The "soul" and his experience
2) A pseudo competition where rules are heavily enforced, to determine who gets to manage what universe.
3) Everything going to hell.
I wrote a few chapters of an idea, never got anywhere. Essentially all but canceled.
There's Repairs and Recordings, which is vaguely #1, but it didn't have enough ponies, and I fell out with the group. Never published.
There's "Smells Like Christmas Morning", which is partially me being a bit too edgy, and writing a Christmas "fic" in which there isn't a happy ending. Just a dull grind of omnipotent gods having to make sure reality doesn't collapse, for eternity.
There's TGMT: Exterminator, which is a prototype of #2, got way too convoluted. Never finished.
There's Magic Fortress, which implies stuff with the really crappy epilogue.

4083521

GUNS EVERYWHERE! :D Sweetness :D

4083431 the three god-types will solve most problems with force, sometimes death. Did I mention that the strong one's the lord of time? I think I did. And because potatoes, the siblings can see into the future and manipulate space, though not to the extent of the eldest.
They do things based off of morals, and the slightest shred of empathy which they barely have, but mostly morals and based on if the characters are the main characters or important ones. Because they know the base show timeline, they refuse to kill the Main 6, the CMC, the princesses, Shining Armour, Spike, and the rest is based off whether or not they're a bad person.
For example, they won't kill Diamond Tiara, because while she's done heinous things, they aren't as bad as killing or st-
Actually, it's because she's not fully grown. She has stolen from, insulted, and has been a collaborator with someone that has destroyed property, so with our laws, she's already a criminal. Like Babs, for property damage and theft of the CMC's float, and the CMC, property damage and conspiring to cause harm to one Babs Seed.

Jeez, they're all criminals.
