Just rewatched it. Thought I'd share my thoughts. First off, why didn't Celestia believe Twilight? Why didn't she notice Fake Cadence's odd behavior? Well, maybe Cadence really DOES act like that when she's stressed out so it didn't strike Celestia as odd. That and Celestia has a long history of excusing bad behavior (Bird in the Hoof, Lesson Zero).
Why didn't Twilight's friends believe her? Well, why would they? This is the same pony that brainwashed an entire town over a late school assignment that didn't exist. She's hardly a paragon of rationality. Secondly, Fake Cadence only acted that way WHEN TWILIGHT WAS THERE TO SEE IT. She complimented Applejack's cooking, then threw away the bag where Twilight could see it. Her behavior with Rarity was demanding, but hardly out-of-place for a stressed out bride. Fluttershy's bird was out of key when Fake Cadence criticized it. None of this behavior was odd or unusual. She did insult Pinkie, but Pinkie doesn't get insults. However, she insulted Pinkie where Twilight could hear it. Even Twilight didn't realize Cadence was a fake, only that she was "evil." And, frankly, that was a shot-in-the-dark. There's a line between "bitch" and "evil." Fake Cadence's behavior was seemingly designed to put a wedge between Twilight and her friends perhaps to prevent them from using the Elements of Harmony.
Also Shining and Cadence is the second best ship.
Hmm interesting.
Anyway whats best ship?
In the now-canceled and nuked fic Shards of Utopia I address that. Changeling intelligence is divided into three pieces; the Queenmind which is pure id, the Hivemind which supplies the ego, and the interplay of those two in the Queen's head creates the superego.
So when somepony warned of Chrysalis' plan, the shield went up and cut Chrysalis off from the Hivemind, which made her insane.
This isn't the first time Celestia has used Twilight, after a thousand years mortals tend to start looking like chess pieces. And if Twilight is to elevate to become her equal, she can't think Celestia is infallible.
4056221 IMHO, Twilestia.
These are rational and logical thought out points, and another reason Twilight's friends or teacher didn't believe Twilight is because she hadn't dug up any good proof on the matter.
4056278 Yas! Same!
4056278 Is funny, but was that conflict my reason to began to like ChryLight (just the idea of Salis mocking Tia for all of her mistakes in that day, and "taking" Twilight away from her is too interesting to let it pass x'D)
