I'm trying to finish my mega-project before Bronycon, but it's driving me nuts. I'm starting to second-guess myself on it. I'm actually pondering completely undoing the past four days of work because I don't like the results of one particular segment of the project.
ARRGH!
Should I still make completing the monster project prior to Bronycon my priority, or should I fall back onto unrelated projects and set the project goal to later on in the year?
Is this a trick question?

Yes and no. Mostly no.
Fall baaack. Driving yourself mad trying to stop yourself going mad almost never works out well.
At least, that's what I'd think. Is there a particular benefit from having it before Bronycon (presentation opportunity you won't get again later, or such)?

Nah, just thought it would give me some #swag for the con.
I'm easing off, and that will give me more time to retool to make it perfect. In the interim I'll work on some other projects.
Also completely unrelatedly that image triggers so much dissonance in my mind because—Twilight Sparkle somehow being okay with having gotten nothing done all day—I—it—
Depends on which choice sacrifices story quality. It sounds like loosening the belt a bit may help prevent that. Kinda sucks, but whatcha gonna do?
Avoid burnout. If the deadline is unfeasible just let it sail by; it's not a failure to not have millions of words done in a few weeks.
Losing 4 days work might suck, but I find you usually reuse pieces you wrote a bit, and the final result is way more satisfying.
Do you have pre-readers or editors to help with this?

No, but I'm making progress (slowly). I've backslid to about 21% completion but didn't want to note that on the main page. I should make substantial progress before BC hits.

Well I guess you've done pretty great so far, but I always recommend using pre-readers, if only to bask in their praise when motivation wanes.
