I'm not from the US but I even can see Trump is a failure. Rest in peace to all those people.

Only other choice is Johnson. Only way to not get totally boned. Hillary or Trump we lose. Johnson, we lose less.

Wait, Trump caused the Orlando massacre? How? :pinkiegasp:

Are you referring then to his reaction to the massacre?

I only ask because you adduced no reasons in your original post.

:fluttercry:It sad that what happened is more common this days... This worlds becameing like Hell every passing day with everything happaning.

My they Rest In Peace.

4027501 His reaction and his attitude towards gun control.

How would increased gun control have stopped the Orlando Massacre? I am but a weak and erring man, of course, but I find it difficult to see how tougher penalties for illegal gun possession would have stopped Omar Mattress from legally buying a gun, given his armed security license. Now if we had allowed him to be deprived of his legal right to own guns on suspicion (the FBI investigation), what would have prevented him from simply buying and owning a gun illegally?

He was after all willing to commit mass murder, and he knew that the likely outcome of this crime would be either death or life in prison without parole (probably after taking numerous serious and painful wounds in the process). What penalty do you propose to inflict upon illegal gun buyers that would be perceived as worse than this fate? Especially when Muslim terrorists imagine that they get to sport with numerous angelic virgins (and in some versions of the legend, young boys) after their death, if they simply kill at least one Unbeliever.

As to being able to buy the gun -- can you buy cocaine? Heroin? What laws do you propose to deter illegal gun sellers?

Again, the basic problem is that banning something does not make it magically vanish. One has to enforce the law as well, and that is much harder.

I am aware. But making it illegal and making it harder for a man like that to have a gun in the first place would help reduce the amount of mass shootings the US has dealt with. Gun control alone won't solve the problem, but tighter security on all sides might. He should have been stripped of his rights the moment he came under suspicion.

I know making it illegal won't solve the problem, but that doesn't mean that we should just do nothing. I'm not a lawmaker, nor am I well versed in politics, but I know enough to realise that this is a major issue that needs to change, and it will not change under Trump.
