Okay I loved XII, and ti was the last FF game I played.. rest after that.... no just no... it had some issues, but was pretty good. But what is this? Sequel? Remake? Or, just a cheap port with nothing improved or changed? I mean, interested either way but, what actually is it?

It's going to be a remaster like they did to FFX. Meaning it's actually a Remaster of the International version that had the Zodiac Job System in it.

I can't wait for this to come out. FFXII was my favorite PS2 Final Fantasy. Not saying that X and X-2 were bad. Just that XII was better.

4005015 I liked all three, they each had their good points... and not sure I like that being the international version.. wasn't to sold on the Zodiac job system over the initial one. Still, could work.

X still remains my favorite battle engine for any FF game. The Gambit System was neat, and did work fine overall... the only issue was you had to wait so freaking long into the game to get the gambits that actually mattered or were worth it.

Ah, the first one I got bored of and never finished. Square failing at being Tri-Ace even though they're now part Enix. It was a weird feeling.

Though, in retrospect, I admit some of it could have been post-highschool malaise. Maybe the International version will offer a pleasant experience. I remain skeptically hopeful.

I never finished 12. The encounter system always felt weird to me, and I didn't feel engaged by the story.

I just wish they actually included original new bosses and other content to these remake cash grabs to make up for the lack of original titles they had to rush to start production on when Bravely Default taught them we STILL LOVE RPGS!

Sigh. Well, obvious remake is coming. But the whole delay of 2017 is pretty much due to FF 15 coming this year. Gotta spread out the profits after all.

Still, I'd a been happier if they did more than just emulate higher resolution on these old titles. If you compare the FF-X HD release to the original ps2 running on a decently strong pc you'd see they didn't really change anything but up the polygon count. The laziness is all over these titles and that preview just proves they aren't doing anything much different with this one.

Now if only we can get Square to remake games like Valkyrie Profile and get them to make a real next gen Final Fantasy Tactics games already. But they won't... too busy trying to salvage their original plans of selling us demo length pieces of Final Fantasy 7's all too super short story that happened to just have a crap ton of side quests and mini-games.

I should really just trade in my ps4 now before all anyone would give me is like 70 bucks for it what with the '4k' edition coming out.

4005443 - Oddly enough, FFXII is thus far the only one that held my attention long enough for me to actually finish the game, which is why it's my favorite (though to be fair, FFVII and FFX came close, only to lose to real-life distractions near the end).

4007169 Well, together we make a pretty quality whole, since I stomped through 6-10 numerous times. I'd hit the earlier ones, but availability is an issue.

Since VII is unabashedly my favorite (and time has done nothing to wrest it from its throne), I must encourage you to try it again if life permits.

I jumped ship at ten after slogging through 8 and 9 out of good times remembered.
10-2 was horrid and everything with Lightning was snore inducing hallway of boredom.
If I want turn based combat with pretty graphics there are a plethora of free mmo's you can play without waiting.
