    Been a while...

Hi folks. How are you doing? Been a while. I like to imagine in the great solar system that if FimFic I'm some trans-Neptunian object that only occasionally comes into view intermittently before wandering out to the cold antipodes of space to which I belong. Personally life has been the same. Some original writing. Glacial progress on Homelands, but its not dead. I'm going to be at EFNW in

    Feeling better. Also, an interview.

So my temperature is almost back to normal and I feel a lot better. Hopefully in a month or two I can get an antibody test and find out if that was C19 or just flu. Anyway, either way, doing better.

I'm also going to be doing an interview for the midair pony faire on twitch. It'll be on Horizons, Homelands, and Worldbuilding in general.

    C19, cons, and other stuff.

So 2020 sucks. It just sucks. I'm sick with something and waiting on a C19 test. Hopefully it's just a flu or some junk.
But there is something good happening on the 25th. Ponyfest Online is a discord con and I'm going to be holding an hour long discussion on character creation, evolution and development.

    and the website is

Ministry of Image Fallout Equestria print finished.

Coming in at a whopping 9 books is all of Horizons. You can read it... prop up a leg of your bed... kill a caribou with it... Paper the walls of your house... have a yearly supply of toilet paper... the list goes on and on.

Worse May ever... but some possible good news. · 5:44am May 27th, 2016

So, this month has been the month from hell. I've been having all kinds of problems writing. Finals. Unexpected bills. It's been a mess. But hopefully I'll get the next chapter of homelands out and the next few chapters of horizons up soon.

Also, this month has been so miserable that I've decided I want to go to Bronycon. Wanderer D has been awesome enough to help me get a spot on two panels involving advanced character writing and crossovers, so that will be awesome. I just need someone with a room where I can crash.

I need to go too. Aoshi was generous enough to create this http://hoofingtonrises.bandcamp.com/ to help me go last year, but I wasn't able to. This year I'd like to make it if I can swing together enough money. It'd be a blast to make it to at least one Bronycon and meet more folks.

Hope Homelands is good.

Hope to meet you there!

Ah yes the bane of all writers, life deciding to be evil towards you and throw everything it can at you.

Glad to hear things may be looking up for you.

I'm going to try to make it myself, especially if the next couple of weeks go well. If not, I'll have a lot less time available over the summer, but perhaps more reason to need something nice during it.

I'm sorry things have been so rough for you lately. Hopefully things will look up a bit after the school year's over.

I had a co-worked gunned down beside his girlfriend leaving work. Your month doesn't seem so bad.

Sorry for your troubles. Hope you can go on your trip

More chapters of Horizons coming to fimfiction possibly? I should really continue reading that... I kinda stopped mid-semester because school.

3975813 See? It's not just me. It's universally the worst May ever.

But I didn't mention I also lost an really cool uncle to a chronic illness that claimed him horribly after two years of suffering. Then sit through a church service telling me how he died because 'God needed another angel.' for a man who joked about how God was the biggest asshole in the universe. Miss ya, uncle Randy.

This is why it's always unwise to compare misfortune. Commiseration! That's the ticket. ::Shares a beer.::

3975831 I wasn't able to finish converting Horizons myself. I was so twisted up after every chapter with wanting to change things and hating it all that I just couldn't push through. Yes, I'm glad I wrote Horizons, but I want it perfect, but don't have it in me to do a massive revision of the second half, so yeah...

I'm glad some people still enjoy it though.

3975883 Oh I didn't say mine was worse. Vince was a lot like me so it did drive home that even the nice guards can be singled out for murder but it's more his wife and son that are having it rough... especially because he was off duty and off site so no financial help under workman's comp.

As for PH update issues.

Send a trusted editor to re-read and fix if you can't do it without wanting to kill your younger self. (everyone looks back on older work and wonders what they were thinking.) Lots of small mistakes such as spelling to correct in something that large and those of us here would really like a finished copy. I threw out my old e-pub version because it had lots of issues with font changes and sizing. Grabbing it from here with calibre has been wonderful so far. Even with reading lots of other stuff I'm still at 86% read right now so in the next month or 2 I'll need more chapters.

Having said all that, don't rush it and make sure you're in an ok space mentally. Reaching out to others with the same problems doesn't just help you, it helps them as well.

"But hopefully I'll get the next chapter of homelands out and the next few chapters of horizons up soon."
You've got 61-62b in your queue to upload already, remember.

Oh, have fun at the convention!
I still don't know if I'll be going; it's not that far away, but, without the significance of the EFNW meetup, I'm not sure how to justify the expense. Looks like I could expect it to be over three hundred dollars cheaper than EFNW due to being able to take the train instead of flying, but that's still nowhere near enough to drop it down to "pocket change" levels. Well, plenty of time left to come to a decision.
Looks like the event list isn't out yet, either.

I still view PH as my all time favorite fic, even over the original, truth be told. I'm currently rereading both stories back to back. Best way to get through boring days of work.

I'm holding off on reading Homelands though. I much prefer to enjoy things when they are complete, regardless of media.

Bronycon: The end of everything!

Hope you can make it, I had fun the years I went. :)

I get that. And I didn't realize you revised the imported chapters. I thought you just moved them.

And yup, sounds just like any other author I know. Stare at your work until you hate it.

Also, my condolences for your uncle.

If your fine with a couch, my friends could get you a hotel room free of cost.

edit: we may be able to get you a bed. Some things might have opened up.

Aw I wish I could bunk with the great Somber. I hope I can be in attendance one day. Darn college needs to be finished already.
