Thinking of removing a scene (warning: Discussion of kinks) · 8:27pm May 13th, 2016
Okay, it made sense in my head I swear. It's in chapter six of The Married Life of Cadence and Shining Armor. In the story, Cadence makes an extremely horrifying discovery (The bodies of entire families, including foals, in Sombra's dungeons.) Shining knows something is wrong, but Cadence won't open up. Shining realizes from her body language and her general attitude that she wants him to spank her (this is implied, btw. I need to make it more clear). Cadene has this kink which is not entirely sexual where she likes being spanked as a form of emotional release. Shining does, she starts crying and tells Shining what she saw and Shining comforts her.
This made sense in my head since I do have that kink. I just don't know if it makes sense on paper.
Would anyone mind sharing their opinion of this?
I personally don't have this "kink" you speak of, but it sounds like an interesting scene nonetheless. However, considering the discovery that was made, it seems out of place. In my opinion, I suggest maybe implementing that concept in another part of the story.
I don't share that kink, but it makes emotional sense to me if you know what I mean. And I reckon that if it's your kink you're in the best position to present it in an emotionally realistic way. I'd be interested to read it.
I like it but I think you should take it a step further. That Cadance denies that she wants it and Shining forces it on her. That she is so rattled by what she saw that she doesn't know herself anymore.
She says she wants to be left alone but Shining knows it's what's best for her.
Also try to make the spanking scene itself longer. They are usually so short that I can barely even understand what's going on.
As the one who shares this kink I liked it. It was quite an interesting way to cope with an accumulated stress. The only disturbing thing was how Cadence mentions she used to spank Twilight which goes against my headcanon, plus it looked out of place. But it's only my opinion. But all in all I liked it.

I actually can see it happening. Cadance has quite a determined mindset and is very protective and idealistic. She would want Twilight to always behave and would take raising her very seriously.
I think Celestia used to spank Cadance as well when she was young and maybe even during the time she was foalsitting Twilight.
3944408 Well that's your opinion. But I don't see things that way.
I don't have that kink and I find spanking disgusting. Not the worst thing on this site, far from it.

I'm sure she won't take it too far. Twilight is very obedient so those instances would be very rare and Twilight doesn't need much punishment.
I kind of see Cadance as naturally gifted with children and a very good disciplinarian.
3967027 You're right. Only two to three swats on Twi's rump with her hoof and only a few times. I might write a small story or scene about one such event.
3967035
what about the part of Cadance being a skilled disciplinarian? Do you agree on that as well?
3967799 Certainly. Remember how easily she calmed Twilight down?
3968268
when?
3968401 s3ep12.
3968606
that's not discipline.
3968681 Depends on how you define "discipline." She was still able to bring Twi back from the brink of an anxiety attack, that's impressive in and of itself wouldn't you say?
Edit-And discipline has up to six different meanings, one of which simply means to instruct. How does anyone even speak the English language?
3968694
Twilight was not near a panic attack at all. She was just getting a little worked up.
I mean like child rearing.
3968701 Judging from that scene, Cadence is probably able to tell when a foal (or grown pony) is about to get upset or engage in a negative behavior and gently correct it before it gets out of hand. That would be quite effective with children (particularly one like Twilight who's prone to anxiety attacks and probably tantrums. Really would like to see how Cadence would handle Flame mane Sparkle)

I think with something like that it's best to do nothing. Just stand back and wait until she calms down.
