Bout time for an update, eh?

Not a big enough update to qualify for Rabbit Tracks, but this is just to say: Work is continueing on "Just a Pony", albeit slowly. Two more chapters down, then I got sidetracked by videogames, now I'm sidetracked by homework and sickness, and then hopefully back to "Just a Pony" soon!

    Irony

I tried to write a blog about how I haven't been able to write. I accidentally hit ctrl+r and refreshed the page, losing everything I had written. A cruel bit of irony. I am tired and angry with myself and scared for my future as a writer and I do not have the energy to retype it, so pretend there is some sincere and heartfelt explanation here and you're moved by the struggles of some weird

Pictures should be fixed across all stories

At this point if anyone is seeing broken images in my fics on Fimfiction please let me know! For anyone looking for a new image hosting site with Discord having done the Big Suck, I used Postimages and it was rather simple and efficient.

    Image hosting

Real quick, I know my images are all borked again; what are folks using for image hosting these days? Needs to be free and the less likely it is to implode the better... I was using Discord until just recently which is why this mess happened lmao

    Becoming myself

It's a bit strange that I've spent days trying to figure out how to write this. It's such a big thing and I want to get that across to y'all, but I never will. So I'm just going to rip off the bandaid and get this out there. Because something amazing happened to me.

Who wants to read an entire blog post about me :yay: So now that I've lost pretty much everyone who was going to read this blog, I'm going to bore the rest of you brave bastards by droning on about things and stuff.

I've spent a year writing in this site (close enough, Inner Strength's first anniversary is May 18th), and I've spent just as long avoiding writing anything about myself unless directly asked to do so. It was sort of an experiment to see what information people would care about, and what people would just assume as a given. Y'all probably know where that last part's going.

The only assumption people seem to make is that I'm male. I'm not, and I kinda thought all the lesbians in my stories would skew people to thinking I'm female. It didn't (not a one), but it would have also been incorrect. I'm genderqueer*, as it happens. In a weird way though, unless you directly called me a man (and I can't recall anyone doing that) you're not actually wrong. I'm totes fine with people using whatever pronouns they want to use, be it she/her or he/him. They/them is fine if you want to be boring and not pick a side, but it always amuses me to see what people will pick. Personally I either use a mix or avoid using either, depending on the circumstance, because I don't want people to just go with what I use (because I like being a pain in the ass). Kinda feels weird when people call me sir though, so maybe don't do that. And don't bother to ask what my gender assigned at birth was, I won't tell you.

*Blanket term meaning not male or female. Think of gender in as a line with male on one side and female on the other, I'm somewhere inbetween.

One thing people ask me occasionally is what my relationship with ArchAngelsWings is, based on how often she comes up in conversation with me. We've been dating for the past nine years, and would be married if Florida accepted common law marriage. We're not engaged in any official sort of way, but plan on either getting married at some point or just never breaking up at any point. We're kinda nontraditional people, who don't care much about marriage for marriage sake (not that we're anti marriage or anything of the sort, it's just not a priority for us). It wouldn't functionally change any anything about our relationship, and we can't afford a nice wedding anyway, so there's just no point.

And something that I've been asked quite a bit lately is if I'm polyamorous. I am. Although neither me nor Angel are dating anyone but each other at the moment, we both consider ourselves polyamorists.

On a related note, yes, I often write about my life experiences, in particularly I'm usually Twilight (Angel's Fluttershy).

Sweet babies why is anyone still reading this. Uhm. Didn't think anyone would make it this far. Well, as a reward for reading this whole damn thing, how about I give you... I dunno, what do you kids like these days? Roller boarding and XTC? That's the porn store, not the drug, mind you, I wouldn't offer you drugs (or would I?) (I wouldn't, I don't even drink lol). I also can't actually offer you the porn. Or the roller board. I'm the rude kinda bitch who don't really give out shit. I do have some chapters though. Chapter twenty-two is written and just needs some final editing before publishing on Saturday, and twenty-three (the last chapter) is two thirds done, so that'll be right on time. They're both fucking long, but I think they're fun.

Well, as a reward for reading this whole damn thing, how about I give you...

I want an AppleShy story. And I'm calling you dude from now on.

3933685
Appleshy? You got it.

And I'm fine with this.

3933720 We got a smart dude over here. I want an Aria Blaze x Rarity.
Good luck with that one. :trollestia:

3933738
Well, I've got nothing :applejackunsure:
I barely even read the dazzlings, let alone write them.

I kinda thought all the lesbians in my stories would skew people to thinking I'm female.

Heh, I'm not sure why you'd think writing about lesbians would give anyone a clue to your gender in this neck of the woods. The fact that you choose not to correct folks is probably why the assumption of your dudeosity became so prevalent. Myself, I'll usually try not to assume unless the person says or I see a bunch of folks using one gender identifier without correction. It was the second that eventually made me figure you were a guy.

3933826
Honestly you're completely right, I have no idea why I thought that :twilightsheepish:

And I can't really correct people when they're not exactly wrong. It's not inappropriate for people to use male pronouns for me since l just don't care either way, which would make correcting people odd. Plus I really don't care much what people assume (if I did I would've clarified sooner), just that as you said the assumption became prevalent, so I figured my social experiment of sorts played out fully. I suppose it's kinda cool that it took people a whole year to just gravitate towards male.

okay i am confused now idk what you are but you make me smile (most) of the saturdays:yay: . But you probably tricked us all and you are a rabbit in disguis :trixieshiftright: . But If i think about it i can't remember calling you an he, she ... in any of oure skype masseges or did i?

3934717
Actually I do say rabbit in place of man or woman :scootangel: Like, instead of saying something like "I'm a very lazy (wo)man" I'd say "I'm a very lazy rabbit."

I can't remember you ever using either he or she for me, so probably not. Although if you did it's not like a big deal or anything. Either one is fine, and if I cared more about people getting my gender right I wouldn't have waited a year to tell everyone lol

You know I actually wanted to ask if I could use Rabbit instead of sir or madam and I read that it's fine. èwé (even though I was kinda doing it already ^^') And as a reward... Uhm, boop your cats' noses in my name! All of them, it's your mission! °w°

3935123
I will absolutely accept rabbit as a gender replacement :yay:

As for the reward...

Lol I got three of them, but I dunno where Bandit is at the moment

3935198 He he ^^ yeah rabbit is cool not as cool as tiger but still cool :ajsmug:

The only assumption people seem to make is that I'm male. I'm not, and I kinda thought all the lesbians in my stories would skew people to thinking I'm female.

I now suspect many writers you think are female are actually male.

3941893
I try not to assume people are anything, although I'm not pretending I never have. In either event, I make it a point to not refer to someone's gender unless I know what our is.

I think we can all agree that it's safest to assume someone is exactly what their avatar is, meaning that this is actually a conversation between an angelic rabbit and an eye with a fancy iris :raritywink:

3942417
The best assumption. In truth, I do tend to think of people's avatars as their 'faces'.

However, I was amused at your statement, since in my experience a very large percentage (though hardly all) of femslash writers are male. I can't say if they are more male than female or vice versa since I haven't been keeping that precise a count, but there's definitely no reason writing about lesbians should be taken as an indication one is female.

3942632
Honestly I do think it was kind of a foolish assumption, at least in the world of MLP stories. I was thinking more broadly, where in my experience stories focusing on lesbian characters on a realistic way (as oppressed to, say, fan service) are more commonly written by women. Someone did already point out to me that that was a silly assumption for Fimfiction, though.
