Well, mares and stallions, this is it! Chapter 8: Inferno!
This is the end of the battle against Blueblood's forces, with Twilight bringing in the troops that the city has needed since the first hour of the battle. And she isn't alone in this, she is bringing in a host of new, and old, characters to help the city!
I won't tell you who they are, but I will tell you that myself, and the other Expanded Wonderverse writers (Namely the Troll Squad comprised of Witching Hour, Zoljin, Jim Hoxworth, and myself) created a few of them out of our shared love for a certain collection of TV series!
Outside of the relief effort, we also get to visit the ponies that have been fighting this battle for two chapters now, and see just how badly the city has been damaged, as well as the terrible cost of war.
Anyway, I am going to keep this blog post short, because honestly Chapter 8 is the longest chapter I have ever written in a story. It's final word count was 24416 words, at 56 pages. As I have said a lot in Skype, I blame Calm Wind and his insanely long end of arc chapters for this! Not that it's a bad thing, because I can't say it was joy to write these last two chapters, it was good experience for me as a writer.
Anyway, go forth! Read this latest chapter, and be glad that for now, the battle has ended.
