Chapter 5 has been posted!
It's not a happy chapter by any means, but it's the true start of the war, and Twilight's struggle to survive alongside the UNSC on Harvest.
Truthfully, it was a hard chapter to write, mostly because I kept getting side-tracked by research and Foxhole xD
I was also attempting to go for a Fall of Saigon/Battle for LA style "Oh shit we're in over our head!" sort of evacuation. Perhaps with a little of Modern Warfare's Battle for DC too, because that's one of the things I tend to draw inspiration from when I write really chaotic, visceral evacuation/urban battle scenes.
Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed it, the next chapter will come along soon hopefully!
Unlike most fanfics that focused on main storyline and ODST, the covenant in this story is truly felt like a cosmic horror. The evacuation scene also good.
Hope you can kept this up as long as possible.

Thanks, and yeah while I am focusing on the story it's not the same sort of story as most other Halo fics. I want it to feel like Twilight and the UNSC have no idea why the hell the Covenant are doing this, why they're killing thousands and then millions of people. I want to focus on the struggle, and the friendships that bloom from it.
Also, again thank you, the evac scene was hard to write, honestly, I had to stop a couple times to calm down because I had combat sounds and loud music going when I wrote it to help sorta fuel that "Oh god what's going on where are we going!" sorta stuff.
And I will keep going as long as I can xD I might be slow (Foxhole is a thing that keep sucking my time up) but I won't stop as long as I can help it.
