Short and Bitter. Like my hospital stay. · 4:13pm Apr 16th, 2016
Originally, I was going to write a long dialogue rife with jokes and well-placed puns to explain what has been going on, but I'm pressed for time. So I'll keep this short.
Early in March, I was hit by a car while I was on my bike.
Now I'm one of those weirdos who believes that my body is basically a vehicle to carry my brain around, so I wasn't too upset about my broken right arm, fractured leg and ribs, and concussion. I've got insurance, and the responsible party agreed to pay for damages. I was a bit scared that I was in a coma when I came to because it was snowing again, because I thought it had stopped, but that was just the weather coming back. Thing is, I was bedridden for a couple weeks, and even now, my arm's in a cast.
So I missed a lot of my classes and I'm stressing about final exams, all while I occasionally down a few pills for my ribs.
That should teach me for feeling cheery and taking my bike out after my last midterm is done. But whatever, as long as I don't get any more concussions, my lifespan won't be affected. No, I'm not upset about my injuries. I'm INCENSED at myself for having brought my laptop with me. Thankfully my 3DS survived, as well as my phone, and I even got spotpassed a lot in the hospital. So while I may have a replacement for my laptop, I can't replace the 15,000 words I had written on it. That was a kick in the gut. I know it's not a lot, but it was a step back that just...hit me.
So exams are a thing. Improbable Truth is slow right now because of some kid who didn't brake properly. Life goes on.

Damn dude. Glad you are taking it well and are (sorta) okay.
hope you are doing ok. I was hit 2 years ago and had to quit my swimming and lost a lot of school to. good thing you were warring a helmet. get better soon

If you still have the broken laptop, you might be able to salvage the hard drive. Hopefully that's an option.

Thanks for the sentiments. I'd raise a glass, but, you know. Silver lining? I get an additional hour for my exams because of my cast.

Yikes! Good to hear that you're still kicking and breathing. Good luck on the exams!
If you find writing difficult, shouldn't schools allow you to request for a transcriber to write down your answers? I'm pretty sure that schools do that for disabled students.
Sounds like getting hit by any large vehicle sucke alot. Glad to hear you are recovering though.
So the hard drive in your laptop didn't survive? Because if you have that intact, you should be able to recover data.
On another note, this is why I keep all my important stuff on a cloud service. Sites like Dropbox offer a small amount of automatically syncing free storage, so documents and stuff I put in there. Saved me from the brunt of a HD crash a while back.

I haven't been very...active on fimfiction, so I haven't really gotten around to checking everything. I am just so sorry that this happened to you, and even more so that I am replying this late. I wish you the best of health and hope that your exams went well.
