A heads up for all about Living Nightmare again · 3:04am Apr 15th, 2016
Yes, i'm mainly looking at you, Admiral Q Ponyform.
After much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much thought, i have decided to return Living Nightmare to mostly the way it was before the most recent rewrite which involved including Season 5 into it.
I shall be returning it to an AUish version. One part of season five will still happen during the main part of the story, however, everything else, including the CMC getting their marks like in Season 5 will not happen in the direct story.
However, one scene will still remain in it's unchanged state, that being Stellar and the real Blueblood's talk in the hospital. However, this also does not change the original way Tiara became good in my story. I'm not changign that, because doing so would be pointless, as many have said it felt more real than what happened in Season 5.
This does not mean Spoiled Rich is not still in the story. In fact, that brings me to one of the main points of this blog aside from informing you of a return to form for the story.
As has been stated, Stellar has lost faith in the Mane 6 and needs to have her faith reestablished. What i have in mind is several chapters in which Stellar is given reasons to beleive in the Mane 6 again, each time the mane 6 living up to their element in her eyes, starting with Dash and Rarity. I was thinking of maybe Wind Rider and Suri Polomare working for members of the Golden Chalice family's descendants (mentioned in the first of the side stories), who want revenge on Stellar for what happened to Alchemist.
Now, this does not mean it works like in Season 5 with Wind Rider. He and Suri will be working together to get Stellar in return for Rarity and Dash being taken out of their affairs, Wind Rider not having to worry about his record being taken away and Suri revenge for Rarity winning the fashion show and making Coco quit. Dash and Rarity will, when given an ultimatum of either letting them take Stellar or being ruined, each show their element, with Rarity being generous enough to give up her fashion career if it means keeping Stellar safe and Dash staying Loyal by refusing WInd Rider's offer of fame other than the Wonderbolts (or something else, i'm open to suggestions on how he will try to convince Dash to abandon Stellar), showing Stellar they do care about her and rebuilding her faith in the two of them, resulting in her inner magic allowing Rarity and Dash to take on their Rainbow Power Forms despite the others not being with them, due to Stellar having them all within herself.
So, what do you think about that. And Admiral, don't say "don't do anymore updates" or something like that. Even in the original version, Stellar forgave the Mane 6 too fast, so i need to give some depth as to why she'd forgive them after such betrayal.
And yes, this will be a trend for a bit more of the story before returning to the last two untouched pieces of the story, the second Hearth's Warming chapter and the epilogue. Next will come Fluttershy and Pinkie, then Twilight and finally Applejack. After that, the last two chapters will come out and this story will finally be finished.
So, what are your thoughts. Is this okay? Do you like the idea for Stellar regaining her faith in Dash and Rarity? Any ideas for how she can regain faith in the others? Let me know in the comments.
Now, if you'll excuse me, i need to get back to restoring what i can before working on something else as i await your answers.
The changes you are keeping are completely fine. They aren't a shope in to make Living Nightmare Canon but to help the story.
If the changes were purely to make it canon - just don't, unless you specifically love an aspect of canon.
If they by nature help your story, or because as you go over the result you polish more, great.
I would much rather not read a slavish repetition of episodes, and even touching them lightly can get stale after many repetitions by many authors.
But any reason for going over a story can help it.
