So a lot of folks have noticed I haven’t been as active on FimFic lately. The enforced hiatus from COVID and the world going into lockdown kind of threw off my writing groove, and when I started getting back into writing I found that the projects I was interested in lived outside the fandom space. I think it’s probably something that was building up for a while before lockdown, anyone who’s
Synopsis: When one of her apprentice's friend-of-a-friends goes missing, Archmagus Sunset Shimmer doesn't hesitate to get involved. However, what initially appears to be a simple case of a missing child will wind up leading her to a criminal conspiracy and political intrigue at the highest levels of Freeport.
Synopsis: When Twilight Sparkle traveled through time to stop Starlight Glimmer, she had no idea of the wider consequences of their actions. By trying to restore her old world, she was also wiping away the new ones that Starlight's changes to the past had created. Now, the last remnants of those destroyed worlds have come for revenge.
Looks like Ditzy Doo's words are armor piercing round there. She shot right through all of Cloud Kicker's mental walls.
And so another piece of the world Cloud Kicker built for herself just came crumbling down, and this art really does an excellent job of showing this. Maybe her rules aren't so positive in the end after all?
318749 I'd say it's just about impossible to say that Cloud Kicker's rule's are universally good or bad. Some of them, like Rule Three (No taking advantage of vulnerable ponies) or Rule Six (No lying to get sex) are morality-driven rules that are there for very good reasons. Others, like Rule Seven (No romance) are very obviously just there to keep Cloud Kicker from getting hurt. She's a complicated pony.
And then there's Rule Twelve. Regardless of your opinion on the other eleven rules, nobody can dispute the wisdom of Rule Twelve.
I would definitely say that Cloud Kicker’s rules are there to try and prevent herself and other ponies from getting hurt due to her lifestyle choices. Now the question is does she want to continue with going along with all of her rules as she moves forward, and has to deal with her evolving relations with Derpy and Blossom? Rule two, four, seven, and eleven are either being pushed or being ran over now with her relationship with Derpy. Yea, Cloud Kicker is a complex pony getting into an even more complex situation.
But Rule Twelve is an iron clad rule that must always be followed and never violated. Always. Even to speak of how it came to be is forbidden; Rule Twelve is that important.

And more gold. Cloud Kicker's face is about how I pictured it when I read that scene.
