First draft of Chapter 12 for What They Expect to Give is at 3,345 words so far. It's not really going in the direction I originally envisioned it, but maybe that's a good thing. I had a kind of manic, slap-stick comedy thing going on in my head, but on paper that might come across as jarring. I'm wondering if what I have so far might already need some slimming, though...like maybe I can still achieve what I'm going for without so many words? It'd give me room to do other things this chapter. This is where pre-readers (not necessarily editors) would help. Alas...I'm not so industrious a writer that I could write out both versions and have someone comment in time before the next update. I'll just have to trust my instincts.
Joined the new Silver Spanner group. I really like her design as a pony, and the idea of a repair-pony unicorn got my cogs turning. Started up some notes for a possible steampunk adventure with her. I'm not sure if I can pull it off though. My FlutterDash fic takes up a bunch of my creative focus anyway.
My son went to sleep late tonight, so that means I can sleep in a little tomorrow. If that's really the case, I guess I'll fart around on Second Life and see if I can't get my new pony avatar looking better.
