Damn, How Did THAT Happen? · 5:11pm Mar 13th, 2016
Hey Everyone!
For those of you following me, or have ‘faved’ both of the stories this post mentions, I just want to say that I hate doing duplicate blogs like this, but since we can’t tag multiple stories in a single blog, I kind of have to, so you’ll see this post in your feed twice. Sorry. You only need to look at one if you want to read what’s coming up— they’re exactly the same.
I’m honestly amazed at the reception that Six to Eight Weeks Unnecessary got in its first 2–3 days. It was my first story written for a contest (Ocalhoun's Big 250K Contest), and one of the few that I didn’t have looked at by an editor, yet it somehow managed to stay in the Popular box for almost two full days. Hot damn. That couldn’t have happened without all of you reading, so thank you! I hope you enjoyed the original that it was based on, too!
I also have something awesome to announce! After submitting my main OC story, Through Crimson Eyes, to Equestria Daily a long time ago and getting it rejected, I haven’t bothered submitting anything to them again since, but I decided to bite the bullet and submitted The Rainbow Pony to them last month. If you haven’t already seen, amazingly enough, after one round of personal feedback from a pre-reader and a bit of editing, it actually got accepted! The one story out of my usual genre pool was the one to make the big time. Who would’ve thought?
Those of you that read The Rainbow Pony and ‘faved’ it (thank you, by the way ) within the past three weeks wouldn’t know, but for those of you that read the story a while ago, I did add a small addition to the ending in order for the story to get accepted (as well as a few other minor edits that you likely wouldn’t notice). I’m not sure if it would answer any questions you may have had that I didn’t already give some kind of vague response for (that was my intention, after all—open interpretation), but if you’d like to take another look, by all means, go ahead.
If any of you happen to be following Through Crimson Eyes as well, but are waiting for it to finish, I’ll give you its estimated completion date: March 24th (sometime after 6pm US EST), two days after my birthday. If you want to read daily, I’m still publishing a new chapter every day, usually between 4–6pm, but if you want to wait and binge-read in one shot, that’s the day to do it.
Thanks for your time, and happy reading!
