Meanwhile, I discovered Wander over Yonder is a thing.

And it is fantastic (even though the random, fast paced kind of shit is not normally my thing, Adventure Time has lost its fucking way and just continues to bore and disappoint me. Wander reawakened that sense of joy AT used to give me. I highly recommend it. Don't worry about it eating your time up, its in its second season and won't be getting a third because, and I quote: 'Disney thought 80 episodes was enough' despite the creators and Disney XD (the channel hosting it) really wanting to do more seasons.

Oh well, Disney's loss.

Have some Lord Dominator in all her sadistic glory. She's basically this show's Queen Chrysalis and single handedly responsible for doubling the show's fanbase in the past year based on her relationship with Lord Hater (skull guy in the hood). Enjoy.

I didn't care for WoY. It was a bit too fast paced and relied upon that 'let's thwart the villains every single god damn time' kind of thing. I'd prefer some seriousness every once in a while.

3794790 I can agree that the pace is annoying. I prefer some level of lore consistency myself, but I like WoY as a substitute for AT. That aside, the animation is actually fantastic and the looney toons 'golden era' of cartoons callbacks is great.

Shwovu!

3794842 Shots fired. Do you need me to give them directions to burn center?

There seems to be internal policy of most networks to kill only good shows... Go figure.

3794972 Curse their sudden but inevitable betrayal.

3795036 i know it was a joke. I was just continuing the joking.

Holy shit I might watch the show just to see more Lord Dominator. That damn character design is way too cute. Smooth-ass animation as well.

Eighty episodes in two seasons though? Holy shit.

3795107 two ten minute episodes per viewing.

I definetly loved the hinting of backstory throughout most of Adventure Time, but the fact it never really seemed to bring those points together became rather annoying.

Hell yeah, man. Wander Over Yonder is a surprisingly good watch. I'm surprised you haven't checked it out before now. Lord Dominator is definitely my favorite character in this. Evil is sexy, my friend.

Wander Over Yonder actively avoids backstory.

Adventure time went too complex th season before the Current one is better but it lacks the innocence and simplicity of first season after the Finn lost his arm the show became too abstract and lost it'seems appeal however it is still not bad.

3794842 You don't have ground on the seriousness portion, MLP is plenty serious from time to time. It's slice of life. It's just light. And I never said anything about consistency. It's plenty consistent, if not formulaic.

3796901 Wander over Yonder was the show I was talking about that was consistent. I admit that when I was writing that my mind was focusing on other things, so I apologize for any confusion. Though, MLP is consistent in other regards, primarily in the mood of the show.

...However, I can easily theorize away most of your 'inconsistencies', which I will do.

RD's magic gas: Can be explained by RD touching the cloud, actively solidifying it. That would actively exhaust her, which would explain the one or two scenes after the fact where she was shown to be briefly tired.

Fluttershy's Shy-bys : Honestly, that's probably a personal thing. Something about the situation could actively make Fluttershy more or less nervous about any situation at hand. I know a few people that occasionally feel bouts of nervousness around things of importance. Hardened introverts tend to have problems in front of crowds or (in small groups) wait until they have a time to interject, but aren't quick enough to jump in said conversations. So just nervous at times.

Pinkie's Personal Problems : Different writers on dangerous deadlines. Though the fourth-wellness might just drive her insane with brief bouts of clarity.

Sparkle's Stim-packs : Magic in Equestria seems built around some kind of control. She might not have gotten a magic upgrade with her wing package. She could just be getting used to the power and doesn't have full control of it. She could even just have regressed in her personal magic to make way for new growth. Take your pic. Each one explains in some way how the writers of the show treat the Twilicorn. From Starlight Glimmer fights to other world ending events.

Spike's Character de-velopment : Dragon Growth, like becoming a pre-teen or something. Losing all those brain cells, and getting taller and more awkward. Take into contrast Sparkle's own growth as an individual, and the writers probably wanted a contrast to boot. It may make some fans upset, but it makes sense in a director's sense.

Applejack's Apple Jackshit Philosophies : Just because one desires honesty and prefers it, doesn't mean that one absolutely has to use it. And it's usually pretty obvious that she can't lie for shit. Or it's omission, which is just refusing to talk about something...which again, she's usually pretty obvious about.

RD's Loyalties : Part of loyalty is being loyal to oneself and another part is knowing when to back off your friends. I don't think she's ever just abandoned her friends, but the one time I remember is during the Discord's 1st appearance episode...where she follows another kind of loyalty, duty to her country. Additionally, it was pretty clear that Discord was using deceptive language...supposedly saying he'd put a pause on the game or something. To be fair, I haven't seen that episode in two or three years.

Bulk Biceps : ...When was he ever shown to be a capable flyer? The only episode where they ignored him while actively putting him in was the Hurricane Fluttershy episode...and that can be explained that he was just a participant and all the help helped, even if he didn't add much. The Wonderbolts Academy episode even showcased that he had a weaker score than most of the others on that wheel of fortune thingamajigger. The only thing the recent seasons have done is accentuate what kind of poor flyer he is. Course if you wanted to believe he's a good flier, it could be explained in-universe that he'd been getting older, or neglecting wing exercises after leaving the academy.

Twilight Sparkle's Flight Issues : ...It isn't obvious to you/been told to you yet? The writers were planning on cutting the show off at the end of Magical Mystery Cure...and that episode could have taken just long enough in teaching to get to that point. Time skips exist. If you want something more, just think of Celestia using very good telekinetic control to lift Twilight off the ground while using an invisibility spell on her horn...Or some other unicorns doing that beyond the background that we, the viewers, never actually see.

That last one : Writers changing hands. It's an episodic cartoon headed by a toy company that switches out writers every week. Note that writers don't necessarily do homework on who did what episode last and how to make it more consistent. Not to mention that shows that usually employ some form of critically viable excellence last long...or sell as much merchandise. Remember that I specifically said 'shows' and not 'movies' for the previous sentence. Now name one show that's made to sell merchandise aside the actual show itself that have long-standing critical acclaim or just no bumps in their roads. Name one, a popular one, that stands up to serious scrutiny. Hell, you can even shorten that list to one that's specifically made to sell toys. If you're well-versed in animations, you might be able to think up five and maybe two will have been cancelled, given all the conditions. But go ahead. I'd like to see something new.

3798812 I'm still a sniggity snek deep down. My avatar is an echo of my whims. And a sign that I'm feeling unusually hormonal moody. Besides, I like head pats.

3798836 And just when I change the moody, oft abused, antagonistic, short, cynical cyclopic, alien, warlod, conqueror for another one as an avatar...
