March 26th, 2016: Release date for the upcoming season of My Little Pony.

Like, damn, it's been like four months and we're getting a new season? I'm so used to year-long waits, but now, here we are. If the writers are able to push out content that quickly, then I better catch up, haha!
But, onto the news: WE'RE GETTING A NEW SEASON AT THE END OF THE MONTH, AAAAAAAAAAAAH! AND THE PROMO, LIKE HOLY SHIT.

I'll admit, I'm both hyped and also very worried!
Hyped because...well, obvious reasons! GOOD GOLLY, A NEW SEASON ALREADY!? WHAT'S IT GOING TO BRING!? DID SOMBRA RETURN!? I SURE HOPE SO! I CAN DREAM! AND, HECK, SUNBURST!? AND HE HAS A BEARD?! IS HE SOMEHOW CONNECT TO STARSWIRL!? PROBABLY NOT BECAUSE I READ TOO MUCH INTO IT! BUT, AHHHH!!!
However, the worry part is...well...Flurry Heart (new character). I mean, I don't know...I liked the aspect of Luna and Celestia being the only born alicorns, and don't get me started at how much power Flurry Heart has...it just seems off. And, yes, I am aware that baby ponies tend to have just raw power, and there's no telling of how strong a baby alicorn is, but...I don't know, I just feel real off about it, like I said. I feel it's a bit of a Mary Sue move, because...her parents weren't even natural-born alicorns, from what I gotten. I think I read somewhere that Cadence was originally a Pegasus (or was it unicorn?) and she earned her other appendage somehow. That's what got me through with Princess Twilight, etc. you had to earn your title, and Luna and Celestia were an exception because of their long histories. Maybe they had to earn their extra power. Who knows of their origins? (I think there was a book that spoke of their origins, I have to read it sometime) But, nonetheless...I really do hope Flurry Heart proves me wrong. (Also, DARN IT, I want an Alicorn Prince already! I know this is a show aimed for the female audience, but I feel that is no excuse! I mean, if this was a guy show, how much you want to bet that feminists would say it's unfair for all these powerful men but no powerful females? Double standards, I tell ya! But, I digress)
Then there's Starlight Glimmer...Alright, I will be honest, I wsn't keen on her, considering of her origins, and even her character as a whole seemed rather off for me. But, I felt I was nitpicking at the time, and felt she was a legit villain. but....I was furious at how things turned out in the end. However, I moved past it when I realized that ponies break easily in this show (Look at "Party of One") and, to be fair, she was a kid at the time, and kids are easily traumatized. So, you know, even if I was still bitter (especially when Starlight is more powerful than Twilight. I mean, Twilight, the Princess, I feel it was unjustified, since Twilight worked a lot to get to that point. While Starlight...eugh...), I thought to move past it. But...I do NOT want her to be part of the Mane 6, we have so many characters already! SO MANY! I feel we should focus of the characters we already have, develop them, and then proceed before we start making new characters. I mean, look at Big Mac, he only got his episode last season and he has been around for years! And, then there's Spike...Yes, he has quite the few episodes, but in others, he isn't too involved, and he is always second rate. If anyone deserves to be the next element or something, I feel he deserves the spot. And, he's a dragon, there's so much potential we can use for that! Heck, I was hoping there may be a dragon villain at some point, and Spike would be the one to save the day. But...*sighs*...
I think far too much into it. There's still a lot of things that I hope for, and maybe I will start liking Starlight Glimmer and maybe I can say the same to Flurry Heart. I am mostly nitpicking, so don't mind me. I am still very hyped for the episode!

I'm waiting to see what they do with Flurry Heart 'cause there isn't much more we can do until we see what the show does...well...except WRITE THE HELL OUTTA HER, LOL! And wow, yes, let's have a male alicorn on the show, DAMMIT! Didn't Big Mac dream about being one? Well, why the Tartarus not, people?!? As the fanbase has already proven, this may have started out as a girl's show, but all sorts of non-girls love it!
Starlight Glimmer, eh...whatever. She's got issues and she has her own path, like Sunset Shimmer. Nothing can seriously threaten the friendship the Mane Six have for each other unless it's part of a storyline, but you know they'll resolve it at the end of the episode (or two, lol!).
And an end of month release now? Crapbaskets, I better pull out that those teenaged Flurry Heart story ideas I penned the day after they previewed little miss Freakishly Large Wings...hmmm...whic one should put up first...the one where she turns him good ala the Maleficient story model or an older, rebellious teenaged Princess Flurry Heart who's parents are overprotective and paranoid the King of Shadows is going to get his hooves on her and of course they get their wish? That latter one would be rather...cloppy, wouldn't it?

I'm really hoping the writers would make me like Flurry Heart...but, yes, until then, I will indulge myself into the fandom to see their creative intakes!
And, YES, I'm glad you agree about Male Alicorns! They really need to mix things up a bit more, and an Alicorn Prince would be awesome!
As for Starlight Glimmer...Well, you do have a fair point. Yet, I suppose what really bugs me about Starlight is that she reminds me of Sunset Shimmer, a lot, and if that's the case, then why couldn't Sunset return back to Equestria instead? Technically, Sunset doesn't belong in the Equestria Girls world, and just where is her human half? Yet, my point is, I actually like Sunset more than Starlight, but...Each to their own. Maybe Starlight will be more likable in the coming episode, I am very curious of what they would do with her character.
HA! I didn't even think fics about that! It would be rather interesting to see Flurry Heart in such roles, and even Sombra, but hehe...I admit, the latter does sound a bit cloppy. A bit awkward considering the HUGE age gap, but each to their own, as my mother always says. Nonetheless, I would definitely read fanfics that would expand on Flurry Heart's character, that is for sure!

I was pretty upset about Starlight's redemption, too, but I also moved past it. I just hope that she actually works for her redemption, like Sunset Shimmer had to do, and I hope that her struggles are realistic. I also worry about Flurry Heart, but I hope they prove me wrong about that, too.
Another thing, YES, I TOTES GET YOU ON THE REPRESENTATION OF MALE CHARACTERS. I feel so tired of the "this show is aimed for little girls/little boys" nonsense because why on earth should it be gendered? Why can't it just be a show for kids? And while I love how wonderful and well-developed our main cast is, we're forgetting about the one character who doesn't have any: Spike. He's a main character, too, but they never give him proper development when due. I love that little guy and I wish they would give him the love he deserves.
I am excited and worried for this season.

Exactly, Starlight got off way too easily when she was redeemed. And, everyone seemed immediately forgiving for her. Which I cannot say the same for Sunset Shimmer, who had to earn back everyone's respect (I mean, the entire school was against her in the second movie). I hope that the writers know what they are doing, I can say the same for Flurry Heart.
YES, I'm glad you agree! It's just unfair, it's just favoring a specific gender. And, I agree about Spike, he definitely needs more development and character growth. We mostly just see Spike go through shenanigans, and that's great and all, but Spike needs more spotlight. I mean, there was the Crystal Empire episode(s), but even then, it was more of Twilight's character growth than Spike's. Ugh, and I was really hoping that the season 4 finale had Spike more involved, mostly because in the original MLP, Spike was under the command of both Tirek and Scorpan, and I was hoping Spike would gain an origin story, somewhat. But, nope...I can only hope that season 6 will fix these problems, and not just with Spike, but with the other male characters, too.
I may be worried about this season...But, I'm still very excited about it, and that it's coming so soon!

A male alicorn named...Sombra! Get him redeemed and get him some WINGS! Even if it's just in our heads, lol. Tho I love the bittersweetness of him being the fallen hero, one who lost his love (Princess Luna's my pre-evil ship and Fluttershy post-blowing up into just a horn 'till he regenerated).
I have to have a soft spot for Starlight Glimmer 'cause all my friends kept moving away when I was a kid and I was an only child, so have sympathy feels for her and Moon Dancer. I was bawling like an idiot as they were both telling their stories of being abandoned by friends, ugh!
I'm not into shipping too young a character at all...ick!...but a teenage to twenty-something Flurry Heart who feels like her parents are trying all little too hard to protect her from evil? Yeah, I'm there. Kids rebel, even alicorn kids, I'm betting. Look at what Princess Celestia did just to see the mirror Sombra when they were both young and foolish. And heh, EVERYONE is young (except the two sisters) when compared to Sombra being a 1,000 years old!

Spike, yeah, wow. My brony hubby surprised me by writing a Twilight and Spike story that was really more about Spike than Twi. What surprised me more than that was how many Spike fans there are out there. The things that open our eyes, lol.

I'm also wondering; how long has passed since season 5? Or since Twilight cam to Ponyville? It's been ~10 months since season 6, which means Starlight most likely been properly reformed and they've done quite a bit of stuff, but does that mean that same amount of time has passed between all of them along with the ~6 months (assuming) each season is?
