So regarding this fic, some people have shown concerns about wether I'll be crossing with other Displaced fics.
So far, only Thadius0's 'Headless not Heartless' fics are planned. The story I've already written involes some Golden Sun elements. I'll not go into details due to spoilers, but Auric will show up again as a supporting role.
I'm aware a lot of you might not like this news, but it's my fic and I'm currently having a lot of fun writing it. If me involving Thad's character upsets you, then consider this your advanced warning now.
This fic is going to be generously sprinkled with cuteness, awesome fights and Bahamut-snark.
Plus Cadenza.
My goal is to create a 'Displaced' fic, adhering to the worldbuilding that exists within this branch of stories, but one that everyone can enjoy.
Fine with me. I just prefer cameos to actual crossovers.
Speaking of meeting other Displaced, what are the chances Bahamut will meet the other FF Displaced out here later on? Seeing a double Bahamut team up as well as Tifa, Sephiroth and/or Gilgamesh would be cool later. Especially if they can all teach Celestia and the others about their world's base and what to possibly expect since if they barely could beat Evolet what will they do against the main villains of FF8 when they show up?
Honestly, when the both of you write ANYTHING together, good things happen. That and I thoroughly enjoyed TDKOE. I have high hopes.

Good God no. This is another one of those "one of the worst stories around, but pops up everywhere" situations. "Let's have an extended crossover with the ludicrously overpowered Mary Sue character who thinks he's a comedian. That will surely be conductive to the tone and plot of this story." Completely sucks every single time.
3767801 Oh it would be definitely seeing how the tone and plot of the story is basically gonna be MLP meets FF8 given we just had Evolet appear and that Bahamut here is FF8 Bahamut. Honestly having Gilgamesh here would fit seeing how he acts like the actual character and is that powerful in the actual games. Also as far as Displaced stories go, his are 2 of the best out there. Seriously just check both of them on likes vs. dislikes and their statistics. More than 900 people are tracking the first story and over 1400 are tracking the sequel. With that kind of popularity, the story must be doing something right as is the author. And it doesn't have to be an extended crossover, just long enough to bash into Celestia's skull that Bahamut is her ally not enemy and should have his full power out some point soon to teach the more advanced spells cause they don't know how long they have til certain bosses appear especially ones that'll need high level spells like Ultima and Flare to put down. After all better to have these spells and not need them than need them and not have them.
Also honestly the mary sue card has been overplayed by people too much that's it's done to death to the point of discouraging the creation of interesting and unique new characters from what I read during a discussion of it.

I've seen literal child porn here get 1000+ likes just because it was from the right author. That doesn't make it good. No offense, but actually having looked at that stuff? They aren't doing it right. They just appealed to the right reader base. They're awful stories in every real sense.

3767851 True, though I don't see how any of "those" kinds of stories could logically ever be considered good.
Perhaps though awful story or not in your opinion, if you check the sequel, Gilgamesh eventually got to the point of snapping because of one of the demon generals. Like no more witty banters, I'm gonna break every bone in your body and force feed you your arm snapping. You know you're screwed when the hero immediately drops the jokes and goes straight for the heroic brutality method from the start of the fight.
3767855 Fair enough, what about the othe FF Displaced though? I do know there's another Bahamut out there that's female and Celestia's stepmother and her only parent left due to a horrible tragedy that happened 1000 years ago thanks to Sombra's meddling.

The only thing that could make this character even worse for me is for it to go all edgy and grimderp on me, so thanks for pointing out why should never ever touch that one, I guess.
3767908 To be fair the demon general did threaten to murder a beaten and bloodied Celestia in front of Luna and Gilgamesh and given the war that was going on due to all the monsters escaping Tartarus, it makes sense. Gilgamesh is actually worried about his sanity given he just broke one of his own rules on the whole killing notion, never kill in anger or something like that. And the story isn't gonna be grimdark but it will be dark some given the situation. And I wouldn't say he's being completely edgy as that was so far just a one time thing he's basically trying to recover from during their break from the invasion. The war might not end til Exdeath shows up and dies like in the original game.
My issue with crossovers is rather simple. There is a very nasty trend going on, especially in among the Displaced stories, that with stories of decent quality in the beginning, the more crossovers a story has the more its writing and story quality drop. It always seems to start with crossover chapters being lowered to the level of the worse of the crossed over stories and then the quality never fully recovers. The worst cases are such that the originally decent story, after repeated crossovers, falls in quality to to the level where it seems that there is no one who cares enough about it to give it the most basic editing. And that is just the writing quality.
Stories with lots of crossovers also seem to forget their own plots far too often leaving only the crossovers left. And this just makes calls for more crossovers making the situation even worse.
It has been a very rare gem that had any level of quality and didn't suffer from crossovers.
3767855 Thanks for that. Crossovers with that thing are so common and always tend to follow the same 2-3 plots that they don't really offer anything new. They pretty much become skip able filler/training montage. They are a cliche on their own right.

The main issue that presents itself is that authors don't know how to proceeded with furthering the plot of their story with crossovers. For me, you should only crossover if there is a reason to it and it some how furthers the storyline in your fic.
Anyway, I'm happy to see that you're giving Displaced a try, Ausbrony! I look forward to how the story progresses in the future and I'm glad to see that you have a plan for how you want the story to go.
