I've been writing Twilight, Good Night for over a year, and finally made it to my favorite scene.
Before I get into it, I want to give you guys a little bit of backstory on your old pal, ZOMG.
I nearly stopped writing.
Not Twilight, Good Night. No. Relax. Calm the calamity that is your mammaries.
Before Twilight, Good Night. I was ready to quit writing fanfiction.
The idea came back when I was in the TwiLuna Skype group. I mentioned that I wanted to try my hand at it one more time, just to see if I could put together a story. They gave me access to a few prompts, and slowly an idea began to form.
I wrote the first draft for chapter 1 of Twilight, Good Night back in September 2014.
I made a deliberate choice when I started the story that their romance would build slowly. From inspiration, to tentative friendship, to kindred spirit, to most precious friend, to darling crush.
From academic curiosity, to friend, wonderful mare, something she hadn't experienced before.
I don't even care if this is a spoiler for you readers. It really isn't, because I'm not giving you the scene, but some people go "OMG you told us something is a spoiler!" to anything and everything someone releases.
Too bad. Deal with it, bitch. It's my fic, and I'm excited to say that it. Finally. Goddamn. Happened. Tonight.
Luna's first kiss in over a thousand years.
Worth every second of the wait.
Worth every second of the time I spent writing it.
And, hopefully, worth every second of the time you've spent—and will spend—reading the story.
More precious than any coin or gemstone.
I really hate to tell you guys to be patient, but I have to. There's still edits to be done on this chapter, as well as the preceding ones. But I do plan on having another out this month.
I just wanted to let you know that your patience (and mine) has paid off.

Also, just so you know...
The story doesn't end with the first kiss. After all, Twilight still has so much to learn about Luna.
And Luna still wants Twilight to hold her head high.

TGN is glorious. Can't wait to see how this plays out. You've done such a wonderful job that it's become one of those fics I drop everything to focus on when I get that delicious update notification.

I sure know the feeling.
If you were impatient to be to this point , I am for my part very impatient to read it. The "slow" evolution of their relationship up to this point was delightful , so I know that this scene shall not disapoint.
