New IYGALL-Verse Story Out Soon (IMPORTANT BLOG POST)

Good news: I finally finished something fanfiction related over the weekend and am very close to sending it all you guys' way. Bad news: this is going to be a fair bit more complicated than any of you might be expecting. In fact, it could very well be the most controversial thing I've ever written. This week, I will be providing you with official IYGALL cut content.

New Let Somepony Love You Out Soon!

The Imperfect Storm draft took me longer than expected, but eventually, the global pandemic made me realize I had to get it done sooner or later. And so, I'm back on FiMFiction (for a limited time, at least, more about that in a bit), and ready to update my stories!

Only Nine Likes Away From 150! · 5:01pm Feb 1st, 2016

And right before the end of Act II! I can't wait to see how it'll fare throughout the course of its run. A lot of popular series seem to be ending/have just ended, so maybe we have more of a shot now! (I know I shouldn't be thinking this deviously as an author, but I get competitive like this sometimes.)

Also, just something I've been thinking about--a lot of these newly ending series have sequels planned already, and to be honest...I really don't think IGYALL is going to work that way. Doing a sequel with all the action I already have planned for it would require timeskips or contrived plots (with five planned acts, I fear I might be jumping the shark a tad already), and I really would rather have it be one stand-alone long runner than a completely unrelated set of sequels. (Plus the whole stigma and everything. We can't all be The Godfather or Toy Story, after all.)

Now what I am planning is to continue the series for just over another year, at minimum. I'd also really like to have a one-shot compilation that would expand on character backstories or things that don't relate to the "big picture" plot, which I'd end up calling If You Need a Little Faith or If You Have a Little Hope (leaning towards the latter). My absolute dream (which might be too demanding on my time to actually happen) is actually to write a full prequel series called Snake Oil and Cameos about Babs' parents and their ill-fated romance. SOC may or may not actually happen because I really want to keep to the three-week updates and don't want it to take priority over IYGALL. I do really want to write it, though.

In the next few days, you'll see some minor changes to the series page, as I've realized other stories with arcs name theirs and indicate when it begins. I'm brainstorming actual titles for them right now, and while I have no idea what to call Act I, Act II will be "Loveless World" and the upcoming Act III I've known for a while now will be called "Learning to Love Again." So there's that, and Madmare in the Attic, to look forward to.
